Low tire pressure indicator on dash.

Probably one of your wheel sensors are bad. If you have a C-5, that should be easy to fix, from what I understand. If you have a C-4, difficult. On C-4, each wheel at its position has its own unique sensor, and would be very involved to figure out which one is bad, besides, I don't think that...

    Daily Driver

I use mine mostly on special clean occasions, and there really are many of them. I always have the intention to use them when I buy, but somehow, they are too pretty to abuse. I use my Neon for grocery getting and Wally shopping. The Vette is usually a weekend machine for me.

    Any driving superstitions?

Sounds silly, but I won't wear any off car brand t-shirt, jacket, gear..etc. when driving my Vette. I do feel very comfortable wearing any Vette gear when driving other models. How about you folks, any lucky kudos?

    LT4 LT4 Collectibility

I chose the CE/LT4, vert over the GS. I just don't care for that blue color, and would have wanted a vert. Funny thing, the guy I bought the CE from was going to buy a GS coupe with my money, because he wanted to take along his dog, with the wife and the coupe would satisfy that. Personally I...

Drive only 10 mi. in a year-change oil?

My start ups do bring the car to normal operating temps. I have put in 5 yr Dexcool, Red. There was a notice that you can back fill GM cars to '92 with the 5yr Red, which was changed last year.

Drive only 10 mi. in a year-change oil?

When I do start it, I get it to operating temp, a complete warm up. I have a '94 Trans Am,(LT1) that sat around awhile without starting, and when I did start it, the Anti-Freeze leaked from somewhere, so I'm thinking the water pump seal(to engine) dried out, that's why I warm up the '93 once in...

Drive only 10 mi. in a year-change oil?

I know the manual says that no matter what the mileage, change the oil at least once a year. This past year only saw less than 10 miles on my '93 Ruby, and it really just sat in the garage. I did start it up every so often to keep all the seals in shape. So what do you think? Should I change the...

    Steam sometimes from my '85

My 85 runs cool as a cucumber, temp usually stays around 175 when I'm runnin down the road. I understand that these machines get hot in stop and go traffic, so does mine. I had 2 instances when steam appeared to be coming from the hood. Once when I was in extremely stop and go traffic for what...

Gasoline, schmasoline - what's in your tank?

I did hear some time ago, that water will burn when mixed with gasoline. In fact during an energy crisis, some outfits were selling something that would make it possible to use more water in the gas, as an injection process. Sounds crazy, but I'm sure too much would make your engine run crappy.

40th Anniversary Fog inside of car when air is on.

Try the system with the a/c mixed with outside fresh air. If you have a/c in the recirculating position this may happen. Especially if the windshield fogs up.

Final thoughts on changing old auto tranny fluid...destroys tranny or not?!?!

The idea/logic I heard of was this: I believe these are 'learning' trannys, where the shift is made according to driving habits, as the fluid thickens with age the shift point is compensated so the shift can be made the same way. If you change this to new/clean fluid the shift point would happen...

Unfortunate Corvettes out in Snow w/out garage

It's not so much the snow I would worry about, its the little guys who try to get in there.

    1993 corvette Cheap insurance?

Hagerty will insure your '93, I'm sure of that. It may not be as cheap as you would like, but you will be covered. There are a lot of factors that are taken into account: like, is it a daily driver, where you live, driving record, age, etc. May also depend on how you use it, for clubs, weekend...

Where is the drain plug on dry sump system?

I don't own a C-6, or a Z06, but I wanted to know how you would go about changing the oil. I wanted to know where the drain plug is on the dry sump oil system. Does it have a drain plug? I saw a show featuring the building of Vettes on cable recently, featuring the Z06. The Z06 uses a dry sump...

    Which Car Cover for Garage

I have a plain cotton/flannel lined cover on one of my Vettes. The other one has a soft lined fleece type and is Satin outside, which is awesome, but twice the price. I would go with the Satin type, because it would stop any dust from getting through. The less expensive cotton/flannel lined...

Can you tell me what oil requirement code you nedd for the new models?

I have a C-4 and the oil requirement code is GM 4718(the code spec that meets GM approval for use in Vettes). How about u folks who have new models: do you know what the oil spec code is? It would be in your owners manual. Thanks:w

Cargo Mat for C4 -- Nice Addition??

I like to keep everything as new and close to original as possible. So I do have a cargo mat, same color as original, to protect from fading, and I also got the emblem embroided in(though that's not original)-but I like it anyway.:)

Is GM 4718 oil code still used on new Vettes?

I know what u are trying to say, but I don't think GM mentions Royal Purple, as part of oil requirement for new Vettes. I was interested in what oil code they want owners to use. Is GM 4718 still used as a code requirement(?)

    Question: REMOVE BUILDSHEET

I also have a 93 Ruby, and I pulled it out of the frame rail, I believe on the side of the power steering. It can be done easily and slowly. I used a needle nose pliers, and reached in there. Something is usually going to get torn, but it worked.
