I bought a real nice set of '63 hubcaps because the ones that came with the car had been beat with a rubber mallet getting them on the wheels and putting small dents in the perimeter of the cap.
So what do most people do to get the hubcap on without putting dents on its outer edges?
there must be a way. I really struggled when I had to replace mine. Perhaps putting some lubricant on the inside of the hose would help.
Mine went on so far and then was mission impossible to go any further or turn....it was close enough and I went on to other things....good luck
Only ways I know of.....vacuum systems that suck on the bleeders, or have someone push the pedal down or gravity bleed
those are the ways I know of how to do it. Gravity bleed seems to work pretty good, just takes time, just don't let the MC run out of fluid.
Cars that are top flighted, what kind of paint do they have on them? Do they have base coat/clear coat or ? what kind of penalty does one incur for base coat/clear coat if that isn't the way to go? I am trying to get some direction on paint for my other '63 swc. With the economy down, I can...
thanks Tom.....it is a long way from being done. right now I am just trying to get clearnaces everywhere and then I will come back and get them looking right. Without a doubt that carbon fiber stuff is really the way to go. Talk about stiff and strong. Amazing stuff. I haven't given up...
I went to West Marine, not the same buisness as WEST epoxy. But you can probably get the WEST adhesive system from any place that has boat supplies. I also saw ads on EBay for it.
if you want to replace the dash pad the following items need to be removed....
1. windshield
2. instrument cluster
3. dash pad end caps
4. grab bar
5. radio grill
6. defroster air ducts
7. dash insert
Those all need to be in order to get the dash pad that is there completly off.
Get those...
How far along are you? Is the windshield off? is the instrument cluster out? is the grab bar out? dash insert out?
