    Urethane bushing install

I used a large vise and lots of the included lubricant to push the bushings into the connector. A socket on the opposite side allowed the bushing flange to exit properly. The other bushings that go into the sway bar itself were more of a pain as getting the sway bar out of the car proved to be...

    Acceleration problem

Miss on accelerate I've had 3 GM cars that had your symptoms, fortunately not my '95 Corvette. In all cases it was a bad plug wire that caused misfire under moderate acceleration (especially if the torque converter was locked up and starting up a slight grade). The first one cost $100 at the...

1988 Air Conditioning Heat stuck on

Compressor always runs This is like old home week. Several years ago Vigman really helped find why my compressor ran all the time. It was a shorted transister in the manual (C60) control head. That's correct - the manual control head is NOT a selector switch; it's a bank of diodes and...

Corvette Wont Start Yet Has Full Power

Raising to ramps The 2X10's are to lay on the ground in front of the ramps so the front end gets up a little before hitting the ramps - as you drive forward - and the ramps don't hit the air dam or fender. That way you don't have to jack the car at all. If it's VATS, the solenoid won't activate...

Corvette Wont Start Yet Has Full Power

Won't Start Sounds like the cable to the starter 'went south' at either or both ends (broke or came loose). Sometimes the crimped end will corrode and loose good contact with the conducting wire-really difficult to see. Perhaps the starter itself died but check the cable first. Use 4 pieces of...

    93 LT1 Hard Starting Problem

Hard starting Perhaps Robertwav1 means the fuel pressure regulator. It's where the fuel line meets the fuel rail on the driver's side intake, as memory serves, and under the plastic cover. Also check the coolant temperature sensor located under the intake plenum at the front/driver's side of...

    tree sap how to remove?

Tree sap 3M makes an 'Adhesive Remover' that removes fresh tree sap very well. The product is mostly xylene and can be purchased for a lower price under generic xylol (xylene and isopropyl alcohol), xylene, etc. names. This type of glue remover won't damage the paint if wiped off completely. If...

    LT1 engine help

LT1 into older vette If you have a complete LT1, why put the heads onto an older block? I don't think they fit (the reverse flow coolant, etc.) But on the other hand, check out Edelbrock for an LT1 intake that accepts a carb. AND it accepts an HEI distributor (simply plug up the LT1 Optispark...

    exhaust rattle?

Exhaust rattle I've had 3 cars with cracked converters (fortunately not the Corvette). They sounded like a bolt rolling around in the exhaust - just as you describe. Only one of them eventually plugged up (poor high rev. performance and screwed up vacuum so speed control and A/C vent control...

    gauge problem

SYS indicator My '95 flashed 'SYS' under hard acceleration shortly after I bought it in 2002. Discovered the battery was original and would go nearly dead when the door was left open for 1/2 hour or so. New battery, no more 'SYS' indication. Assure the battery connections are tight and clean...

WD40 for vinyl squeak inside door seams or something better?

Squeeks Later C4's have one side of a velcro 'pair' at many squeek points. My '95 has several places where the velcro is barely visible peeking out of the joints where vinyl would touch and squeek. The FSM indicates this is factory installed. The velcro has a self-adhesive on the back side. I...

    Spare tire cover, necessary?

Spare The spare tire is part of the rear collision 'protection'. The cover is necessary to hold the tire in place.

    PKE help

PKE It's a long shot, but here goes. My cell phone interferes with my PKE. If the phone is in the car and charging, the PKE is totally dead. If the cell phone is in the car and turned on, the PKE range is very limited (like a few inches from the driver's door). And, did you remove the fob from...

    DETONATION SENSOR

Removing knock sensor My '95 had one 'rounded' knock sensor. No way a wrench would grasp the hex because it was 'well turned' by a previous owner. A LARGE set of water pump pliers (channel locks) about 15" long unscrewed the sensor very easily. New one was only about $20. Good luck

    Lumbar pump???

Lumbar support pump My '95 Corvette does not have lumbar support but my '96 Blazer does. The pump makes no noise whatsoever - but my ears are old. Seriously, try holding the pump to see if you can feel it operate and find its fuse for a check. Hope this helps.

    88' Anniversary Owners White Wheels

Cleaning wheels The interior cleaning cloths ('wet-ones' imitators) work surprisingly well. Use a dry paper towel to clean off the excess moisture and prevent spotting.

Loose (steering) Wheel - NOT the nut behind it

loose steering column I've successfully tightened a couple of these; but not on my Corvette. If it's truly a parts must, try Contemporary Corvette (a reliable salvage yard).

    Cruise Control Problem

Cruise control problem Your symptoms are often due to poor vacuum. Check the reservoir (spherical ball) and hoses. There are many any posts that describe failure of the double 't' on the passenger side of the intake (under the plastic fuel rail cover) or failure of the check valve (cone topped...

    Passive Keyless Entry Problem

PKE program Make sure the fob is out of range (like 20 yards or so) before beginning the programming. Is it possible that there's another fob 'lost' inside the car? If so, the new known one will NOT program. When my cell phone is in or near the Corvette, all bets are off for the PKE function...
