As long as the end product is excellent, I'm not gonna bitch about the marketing. The marketing will take care of itself.
I'd rather have the Corvette be an excellent vehicle with shoddy marketing, versus having excellent marketing of a shoddy vehicle.
I'm not to hot on this video either. Granted, I'm at work so I didn't 'listen' to the content. Based on visuals, it didn't look too interesting.
As far as discernible styling cues, the only thing I picked out during my one viewing was the Cadillac CTS-esque headlights.
Here's another article about it with more details about the origins of the car and the guy that originally stole it.

I like how he says that the car has more left in it and essentially blames the driver. To which I would ask, "Then how come no one else has bested the record of the ZR-1? Would you not handpick a driver to accomplish that seemingly simple task?"
And for him to state that "the car rewards the...
I just looked on TireRack and there's still a few different tires that fit the stock rims. Unless you require White Letters...then it gets to be slim pickings. Anything from a 225 - 255x60x15 will fit. Although the 255's up front may pose a problem. If want to be able to rotate among all 4...
I'm not expecting the car graphic to be a static image. On many of the LED/OLED displays used in cars now, especially the newer hybrid & electric cars, all those in-dash images change depending on what you are viewing. Along the same lines as being able to customize what the HUD shows in the...
The shot of the tach is kind of interesting to me...

The engine & oil are warmed, but not at operating temp.
The oil pressure is zero and the tach needle is at zero, which would lead me to believe the engine is not...
They need to keep up the teasing until January 13th... or until some site that doesn't abide by non-disclosures decides to go rogue.
I think the console will split people between "functional and cool!" and "gimmicky and ricer!".
There's always going to be someone who complains about anything...
I find this statement to be somewhat misleading. Short of the little things like screws & whatnot, I find it exceptionally difficult to believe there won't be compatible parts. None of the following will be compatible / carried over???
rotors, calipers, tires?
zero parts of the suspension...

There's a huge knowledge gap between regular people shooting pics of...
I wouldn't call it a poor photoshop attempt. I think it's actually the best we've seen thus far. But a photochop nonetheless.
Some other points... It would never have a citizen license plate. It would be an MFG plate. The reflection in the side-view mirrors would be crisp, not warped lines...
I'm down with it :thumb... I certainly don't mind the styling. It's no more a radical change than it was from '67 to '68, '82 to '84, or '96 to '97. C5 to C6 was more of an evolutionary change than a revolutionary change. This C6 to C7 seems on par with that.
That rendering has a few...
In addition to me agreeing with the Mikes, this isn't restored to factory original either. I'm fairly certain it didn't show up with a fuel meter or an MSD box bolted to the front glovebox, among other noticeably newer items. And didn't these cars still use a waterpump-driven clutch-fan? I...
maybe something in the door? Although I don't recall seeing anything like that in mine. 'Course, my car was missing so much stuff to begin with, I wouldn't really know anyways! :L
Something else to consider in the "versus" chart.
Since you aren't turning your own wrench, there's a very good chance that you'll definitely be spending more money than time on this car.
The question I always pose to people is this: Since you aren't turning your own wrench, and given the amount...
Wow...wonder what speed that was?
Does insurance cover something like that? I know 'typical' insurance doesn't cover your car if you are racing at the track. I suppose when you do it normally, you have additional coverage.
Good thing it didn't come through the windshield into the car...
I'm not sure I get this...:ugh
I understand that you have two different calipers...that shouldn't be a major problem. But your pads should definitely be the same on both sides. When you buy a set of pads, there's (4) in the box...(2) for each side. You should never have different pads one...
I don't reckon he was entirely serious, just frustrated. You don't have a car like "bumblebee" only to get rid of it because ya can't figure out the brake problem. He just posted his original problem yesterday and has a couple bites already. Given enough time and continued input/feedback from...
