I've had good luck with Hedman and Hooker headers. I have Hooker's in my car right now. (always tricky to say that without smiling).
I recommend getting your parts treated by Jet-Hot. (Might be a little more costly for Andy in AU.)
They will ceramic coat your parts and give them a lifetime...
Well, there's a couple answers for you!
I suggest a voltmeter over a test light as you can get more use out of it. The function of each is the more or less the same though for what you want.
For a 'few buck more', get a digital voltmeter so you can actually see the numbers. It's much more...
So you're running pipes directly from your exhaust manifolds straight back to each side? That should open things up a bit for you. However, if you are running the stock exhaust manifolds, they are very restrictive. Replacing those with some headers will give you that sound and performance...
I meant that Mobil-1's "high mileage vehicles" oil has the fewest (if any) ILSAC & API ratings/certifications.
WalMart carries it.
Mobil 1's page for the oil
Mobil 1 High Mileage 10W-30 Advanced Full Synthetic Motor Oil
Wally World's page
Walmart.com: Mobil 1 High Mileage 10W-30 Full Synthetic...
I'm sure Hib is able to summarize his own article, but the understanding I took away from it when I first read it some time ago, was that all the ILSAC, AP, and other ratings more or less referred to the amount of ZDDP in the oil, hence why you see oils marketed for "high mileage engines"...
I apologize if this is insultingly obvious, but I would simply take out the fuse from the socket in question, and check it with a volt meter. Do you have voltage? There's your answer! :thumb
Tire compounds being equal, I'd say the 225's will have less road noise due to less contact patch on the road. Do you require white letter radials?
As far as "what is their nature" with regards to road noise? Completely subjective. You'll have to catch a ride in some others and see! :)
For...
Welcome to the :CAC, Andy!
I'm not overly familiar with the airpump setup on the 81's and if has any direct tie-ins with the E4ME carb on your car. (I'm assuming you have the OEM stock carb.) Did you end up with cat(s) on your new setup or did you skip them altogether? What about your air...
The 'Fisker talk' was specific to this particular picture, which is simply a Fisker Karma with a Camaro rear end and Corvette exhaust tips hastily stuck on there.
I'd say go with the hood removal. Yes, it can be a royal PITA for a single person to do. But all things considered...
1) You only need one more set of hands to make hood removal easy.
2) You'll likely have no reason to ever remove the shroud again, so why hack it up?
3) If you can figure out...
Truth be told, I'll have ZERO problem if it looks like a Fisker Karma. I have a Fisker/Maserati dealership near me and those cars are pretty sweet looking! The base Fisker Karma MSRP's at $103K, so it's "slightly" out of my price range :L
Kinda funny, because when I look at the 'edited' picture, I'm seeing even more hack & slash.
The original pic's drivers side rear quarter panel is showing to the left of the "cut & pasted" Camaro rear end.
And if you look closely at the "cut & pasted" exhaust section, you'll see a little white...
Guys, this is one of the worst "Artist impressions" I've ever seen. This has to be a joke as there's no way this is a professional visualization. This is a 10-second cut & paste that could've been done with MS-Paint. If you click on my attachment to see it bigger, you'll see what I'm talking...
I replaced mine when I first posted in this thread (Holy Sh**, that was already 6 years ago?!?!?)... for the most part, I would've fixed the problem except that when I was reassembling the visor arm, not knowing/thinking it was supposed to have friction, I greased the area around the...
...Right here, this picture. This is where my relationship started with Jeff and what became the genesis for Blender Wars. I believe this was taken during SharkFest in Bowling Green in late August / early September 2002. (Wow! Almost 10 years ago!)
Jeff was one of my favorite CAC people...

Amazing fiberglass work! That cat has got some talent!
I know how much my paint job cost with very minor fiberglass repair. I can only imagine what your time in the shop is costing! :Silly
But the results will certainly be worth it! I love my custom paint job like you do your flares. It's...
Now your points/arguments have context and make more sense. :thumb "It's all in the delivery."

What I found interesting in doing a little side-research due to this thread, many of the exotic and/or high dollar auto manufacturers (Bentley, Ferrari, Lambo, and I think I saw...
The more I re-read the comments in this thread and think about what question people are answering, I find that we all seem to be answering the question based on context that we personally give it and not in the context given, namely because it isn't given any context. It's a very generic...
Kid_Again, B747VET, and anyone else...keep in mind while you're writing that you don't want your replies to become personal in nature. Try to keep in mind the actual question/topic at hand. Don't let yourself get pulled into a pissing contest or who can be the bigger Internet Tough Guy...
