Was this car an export car or was it purchased in the US and later shipped to the UK? The GM export rear lamps had the amber turn signal lamp incorporated into the lower portion of the tail lamp assembly and not a separate lamp housing.
Does the RPO sticker under the console lid show RPO CU9...
All The 84-87 cars used the same spindles and the smaller 11.5" brakes all around. The suspension design change with the 88 model year. The J55 big brake option (13" front rotors) started in 88 with it becoming standard in 95.
The 84-87 wheel offest was different at 38mm while the 88 and...
It could be a solder connection that's bad, a circuit board or the display panel itself. You might contact these places: http://carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalCorvetteFspk89.htm or Dr. Don at http://www.doctordons.com/
I had a set of 3" B&B's on my 92'vert . They were an early system and I had lots of resonance at cruise speeds around 55-60. Once I got to 70, the resonance went away. The worst RPM range for the resonance was about 1200-1500 RPM. The one thing that did help was running in 3rd (it was an A4...
A good friend of mine managed to spin his 90 ZR-1 on an icy road last Saturday and wound up with a tree limb poking thru the bumper cover. Nothing else was damaged outside of some paint scrapes, but the existing cover may not be repairable.
If anyone knows where we can find a good used cover...
That was the same problem that the plant had with the 94 Copper Metallic cars. Too bad that they couldn't get it right; both the Copper Metallic and the Aztec Gold colors look nice.
The best I ever saw (manually calculated) in my 92 vert (A4 with 2.73 gears) was a tank full that hit 31.4 when I was coming back from the 50th Celebration in Bowling Green. It was on I-40 going from Oklahoma City to Albuquerque, NM.
For most of that leg, the group I was with maintained...
I have seen one of them and in bright sunlight, they are actually very nice looking. My 87 is Gold Metallic and is a bit darker than Aztec Gold.
I think the Gold looks better with a black interior that the saddle or light gray that were the other color choices.
50w bulbs may be too much for the early C4 light housings. The entire fog/turn/parking lamp housing is a single sealed component so there is more risk of getting moisture into the housing if you drill any sort of holes to allow heat to escape.
The other thing to consider is the size of the...
I'm interested in this too. Right now I'm looking at both XM and Sirius and have really yet to decide whic is better. I signed up for the free 3 day subscription to XM and will try the Sirius next week. My intent is to do the initial install in my 99 Silverado Z71 and be able to move the...
No reason why not!! Fuel line hose is made to withstand the extra pressure found in fuel injection fuel systems and the inside is made to withstand the effects of gasoline on the hose.
How is the velcro holding up to the heat? I would think that the cloth and/or plastic that makes up the velcro would melt. :eek
The OEM shield is stapled and some of the aftermarket shield require some sort of fastener like a staple.
Unless you have extra cubic inches( like up around 383 cid) , a big cam, head work and intake runner porting, the stock 48mm TB will provide all the airflow a stock moter needs. A 52mm will work, but going above that really won't do a lot for increased power.
There are some good quality...
The 89-91 cars used the ZF6 box and the L98 motor so I would think that parts from those years would fit in the earlier car even to the point of being a bolt in. You may have to use the later C-beam to get it to bolt up.
The later hydraulic clutch system may have be used and you can just...
The width of the wheels plays big a part in the selection of tire sizes.
With the 9.5" wide wheels, the 265 tire is going to be much too narrow for that. I would go with a 275/40 as it is the correct size for a 9.5x17" wheel.
The 285 tire fits easily on a 9.5" wide wheel as that was the...
Chances are it is an AC Delco item and you mau not hve to go to a dealer and pay their price for it. Check with auto parts stores in your area where you see an AC Delco sign in the window. Don't bother with AutoZone's, Shuck's/Kragen as they will not have them. Try a CarQuest store or maybe...
The fasteners are threaded into a pair of speed nuts that simply clip to the plastic airbox. It's common for the threads and speed nuts to be rusted and using excess force will cause the speed nuts to twist off the box. WD-40 should work; just spray some around the base of the fastener and...
When Road & Track tested the 82 Vette, they were able to get the auto trans car to almost 140 and the manual tranny version to slightly less than that. In Dave McLlelan's book Corvette from the Inside, he said that GM tested the 84 to about 142 MPH.
You may have something out of adjustment...
I have some friends with them and they are a great DIY lift. Easy access under the car once the lift is raised and with the optinal "Bridge" you can easily get the front or rear wheels off the ground using only a bottle jack. A floorjack with a minimum of a 19" lift is important. That's about...
I believe that the NCM has somthing under 2 million at this point. The cost for the entire expansion pland is now over 12 million and will probably rise some more. I have not heard much about the status of the grants that are available.
The NCM has a DVD that is available to club Museum...
