They were powder coated from the factory. i don't know of anyone that offer an exchange but that would be the way to go..

T he paint that I got from Ecklers was Spruce brand.I still have the can and will give you the part # if you wish. I paid 7-8 bucks for it and like I said it is nothing more than silver paint. It does not match in color or texture. Not even close. If someone has a brand that works let me know..

Paint will not work.. they are powder coated magnesium.. I had some junk ones that I bead blasted and bought the valve cover paint from Ecklers. The paint was nothing more than an aluminum paint and they looked worse when I got done than they did before..

I worked on the plenum yesterday using elbow grease and wd-40.. it worked better than anything I have tried yet!! I also put a liberal amount of it on the valve covers.. They look nice, except I have a couple small stains.. Any more suggestions?

Does anyone have a secret? I have tried brake clean, wheel cleaner, some differant aluminum cleaners, and simple green and stiff brushes. It still doesn't look very good. What do you suggest?? tls

My car has just over 11 k on it. Its an 88 like new, but I can't get the plenum nice and clean??? Any suggestions i have used wheel cleaner, brake clean simple green brass brushes and probably other thing I can't remember.. What can I use??? tls

I keep mine at 35 cold. I don't drive it much and they tend to loose air while sitting. When they get down below 30 I add more..

I still don't have a clue as to what to use on the plenum on an 88. It is not dirty with heavy grime it just does not look nice and clean.. What do other use.. TLS

Does anyone have a trick to cleaning the plenum and then keeping clean?? i have tried simple green and a pad, aluminum wheel cleaner, small amout of ajax,brake clean and probably some thing's I can't remember but it still does not look really good, like new!! tls
