    Ouch!

So you're coming home from your son's house after thanks giving and when you hit the Smokeys the snow starts. Best thing to do is get off the road, but everyone does that and the motels and restaurants fill up quick. Since I've made that trip 1 or 2 times a year since 1988 about 40,000 miles the...

    Ouch!

If you don't respect the car and the conditions you're driving it in you should not be on the road or behind the wheel.

    Detecting a respray?

First off it can be the original color paint and be a correct statement but still be a repaint, check you color code against the present color. Most likely if it is for a car that old it has some/all been repainted. If done correctly it was taken apart, stripped, reprimed and color coat added...

    reasonably priced run flat?

If you have figured out a way to get the tire pressure sensor to work after you give it a Slime treatment let us all know, or add another $150 to your tire repair.

Old Dog–New Tricks: Danny Popp Wins the Goodguys Autocross Title with a C3

For those of us in the Ohio clubs he has been a great help on setting up and tuning our Corvettes to autocross. Nice guy and knows your Corvette better than anyone I've run across. One of those guys thats has actually been there done that.

2004 Coupe Passenger Door Window Problem

Well the easy fix didn't happen so here's a look at what comes next. Like Junk said it can be that pully or it can be dirt in the tracks or even a bent or broken part you'll never find without taking it apart.

    2015 Corvette Z06 Getting Supercharged LT4 Engine?

Interesting to say the least. They are running fire against an aluminum piston into and through an aluminum head, could that be an aluminum exhaust manifold? ;shrug

    2005corvette automatic

Are you parking on an incline all the time? If so try to park it in the opposite direction or on a flat an see if it shifts cleaner. Let your car relax if you have your tires against a curb with you foot on the brake when you put it in park, release the brake first so the tires are not under a...

    Gen 5 small block piston!

Thanks for your kind thoughts Hib. Show me how you "know" the parts pictures were altered. What you're saying is that GM will not, AND/OR DOES NOT, have a near shape piston top on the DI LT1, correct?

    Gen 5 small block piston!

Never say never, this may be what woud be preproduction parts from the last run of prototypes. Keeping track of parts at some point draw a production number to get the manuals moving. Same with parts as they reach the production stage they may or may not be completly developed. What you are...

    Gen 5 small block piston!

That would only prove that I got a part from the same batch as you did. Those parts can be and often are the remaining prototypes used to prove a viable functioning part. They are at times over run on purpose to cover parts requirements after a new model is released. Not long but just enough to...

    Gen 5 small block piston!

Believe what you want but that is not a production piston. Since these are through the assembly process my guess would be that they are production pistons. Last picture is a LT1 and the LS3.

    Gen 5 small block piston!

Take a look at the 2014 C7 pictures posted by Bob a few months back, (about page 5 fo 2014 C7) they clearly show the production piston. It has only two cuts that do not require CNC machines to make but will most likely have dedicated maching pod to make the pistons in the required volumn. A...

    Gen 5 small block piston!

That is not an LT1 piston, may be one of the prototypes but not a production piston.

2004 Coupe Passenger Door Window Problem

Take a credit card and insert it between the wiper and the window and run it back and forth to clean any debris from the lip. Do both inside and out and see if it help.

Help! Driver's Window is loose, wind noise

You might try a window adjustment, not that bad for the average owner to do. The rear tip in adjusters for the windows ARE located right behind the red reflectors on the door panels. You DO NOT have to remove the door panel to get to it. The reflector is held in by two tabs at the top and a...

    C6 dipstick ????

Still something odd about the claim that it had manifold work. Even if it did a header would have no difference in its mounting. Easy thing to do is remove the oil cap, lift up on the front until the detent pops loose and repeat on the rear and just take a look. Did they bend, kink, flatten the...
