I may have missed something, but it sounded like you are running on 10 year old front tires. They may look OK but they get hard and do strange things. You need four tires that are alike and the same age.

My recently rebuilt 86 is running hot. 275 oil 230 water. The radiator is fairly new and I have tried everything to bring it down. Anyone now a good source for an oil cooler & heavy duty radiator.

Well Today, I drove it and the light stayed out. Just a gremlin I guess.

Took the thermostat out and temp stabilized at 210. That is at idle with AC on in Florida.

If the cooling system is having a hard time keeping. up a 160 thermostat will not do any good. It already has a 180 thermostat. I may take the thermostat out completely. It didn't run hot before I rebuilt it so I think it will come down as I put a few miles on it.

Took it out for a brief test drive. Had regular in the tank. It didn't like that. Put premium in it but it was running hot so I went home. I think the hot condition is Florida with a rebuilt engine.

Mine went wacky in my 86. Had to replace the ECM to cure it.

Leaky injectors can cause a hard start when warm. Don't pump the pedal. Holding it down starts a "clear flood" in the ECM.

Anyone know what controls the Upshift light or where it is in the FSM. It is staying on all the time in my 86.

Take the Dash Pad off and it's a piece of cake.

Will do. Mine is also an auto with 3.07. Just got my custorm chip from pcmforless.com. Starts and idles great. Makes me feel great because I rebult it.

Took my dash unit out today and took it apart. The only thing I found wrong was that three of the halogen bulbs were burnt out. The tutorial mentioned earlier suggests replacing the 882 halogen bulbs with 194s. I looked at bulbs in 5 parts stores today and all the 194s have an incompatible...

Has anyone tried the new products available to repair parts like dash bezels? It is made by Plastifix and can be used to build up damaged areas like where mounting screws go.
