VIN tag is actually on the windshield PILLAR going up from the dash.....it should be approximatley 3 inches up the pillar from the dash running parallel with the pillar...... Good luck...sounds like a great find!

You do not need the canister hooked up UNLESS your state has emissions that require all working smog equipment to be operational.....

Ive always used the head clearance, piston height and chamber to calc compression...

on my 73 I removed the fan blades, pulleys, and studs. Take hood off Loosen the lower bolts on both sides of the radiator core support (loosen not take out) take upper 2 bolt on boths sides OUT of the core support so you can pivot the support on the bottom one on each side that way you can pivot...
