High idle may also be the carb running rich..and out of adjustment. I thought I had a vacumn leak but found out :D otherwise.....

Sounds kinda like a caliper hanging slightly. Working at a car dealer for as long as I have with "lot rot" aka rust build up on the rotors we hear a lot of "friction" at slow speeds...:D Good luck TWA Rob

Is the spring on the idle screw on the carb tight...meaning.... with the right frequency vibration the screw actually turns while you have the pedal pressed . If the spring on the screw is weak it potentially could turn in at the right frequency..

On my 73 (yours may be different) the "proportioning" valve has two ports for the front lines....the one that comes off the bottom of the valve goes to the passenger side caliper....the lower port goes to the right side and the top port is the rears...now maybe the newr ones are different but I...

go to your Sears store get a bolt extractor...drill the center of the stud out insert the bolt extractor and extract it...simple as that......if you can assemble a motor...you can do that.....:upthumbs Ive seen those things take out the hardest of bolts........unfortunatley in my own block...

Ive tried to adjust mine before with the shifter off and the rods detached and then with the rods attached, however I found after 4 attempts you need to do it connected to the trans, for some reason something changes when you dont do it attached to the trans.....I know its a pain especailly if...
