I have 87K on my bilsteins and have no leaks. I think I read somewhere Bilstein suggested replacement at 100k or beyond.
Are they leaking? Does the car handle strange on the highway?
Also, a stiff shock will make a car twitchy in a way. If the shock is too stiff, the initial transfer or...
LT1, LT4 Manual transmission - $17,995.00
WOW ! for that kind of money you could buy a C-5 ! :D
No doubt its a quality engine though.
Maybe a used stock Lt-1 with a supercharger would give those numbers for a third of the price ?
Just a thought.
On My 1995 the water drain on the passenger side is under the AC condenser case. You will have to remove the side panel to get to it.
The drain is a long rubber tube about 8 inches in length and about 3\4 inch diameter with a rounded end. It is easy to get to and see with the panel off.
I...
I have driven an LT-1 Vette with both an automatic and a Six speed.
I currently own an LT-1 6 speed.
The six speed is faster off the line than the auto. I guess the lower gear ratio in the rear helps here. This off the line 0 - 60 performance was what convinced me to go with the 6 Speed. A...
Im going to order a new assembly today.
What is the good one ? I see a huge variety in prices and all seem to say " same as orginal or Original fit" :W
I see a Japanese ( ? ) version as well ?
The add says its the new and improved version ?
Any ideas would be appreciated, I will not...
Hello All ! Been a while since I have posted.
I finally found time to take the cover off my 1995 Convertable and noticed the power antenna no longer worked. The motor does make noise but it does not go up or down. I'm fairly certain a repair is needed.
My questions:
1. How hard is the...
A drove a 1994 with B&M on it. Do you have problems with Reverse ? or does it go right in ? The one I drove seemed to bind the shift boot and was hard to get in reverse.
then again maybe it was the operator :w
Check the drain plug seal. Yours may be worn out or crushed. The heat cycles tend to loosen up oil plugs. That would explain why it goes away after an oil change.

I think the bottom line here, is that naturally aspirated, your not going to get more than 30 or 40 ponies in bolt-ons for under 1200 bucks.
Can you feel 30 HP's ? yes
Does it feel like 1200 dollars ? To me NO ! :upthumbs
is it worth 1200 bucks to go 3 car lengths faster in the quarter ...
on my 1995, I removed the tag and just reached inside and unscrewed the bulb.
The socket for the bulb has a push in tab that you must press in order to make it turn. If you can't figure it out by feel, just remove the two 10mm black bolts that hold the light in place and slide the light...
If this is the same guy I'm thinking of, he should show before and after pictures to get the full effect !
The before part was scary from the last pictures I saw posted. :W
and after 10,000 hours of labor, he has a nice blue vette !
I wish I still had that much motivation. :thumb...
so far I have used
PBR's ( a little too hard with reasonable pedal pressure)
These were good all around pads .
The super soft Bendix brakes. They work great on the street but had issues in the Smokey Mountains on a particularly brake heavy curvy section. Yes they wear fast but pedal effort...
way way too high.
If nothing else is broken, he's charging you about 400 dollars for
around 1 hour of labor, if he's slow. :W:W
A good brake man could do it in 30 minutes for both sides.
try this. http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=102231&highlight=rear+washer
