ok let's try this. Turn on the headlites and turn the ign to run position. Check both batt cables at the battery and see if they are getting warm/hot. Check the two smaller wires at the alternator for warm/hot. If they aren't then check voltages again. Start at the battery. If you still have 12...
You're reading ghost voltage at the starter. Check your connections again at the battery, bat neg to ground under the car, neg from frame to engine. Do the voltage checks again starting at the battery. I have seen cables lose connection inside the terminals. Pierce the cables a couple of inches...
Thanks Rob, Ken, Mac
After 29 years of working for other people I've decided to start my own company. My goal is to supply quality parts. I test and use every part before I put that product on my website. A lot of sub-standard parts have hit the corvette market in the past few years. Poor fit...
Hi,
It depends on the trim rings and caps. The trim rings should each have four mounting clips. If they don't then they are repro's. The caps should be all metal and check for pitting. On the wheels look for curb damage and elongated holes. If it's all original and good condition then $160 is a...
Hi Don,
It sounds like you are refering to the shift lock cable. It prevents you, or a thief, from moving the shifter out of reverse without the key turned. You don't have to have it. I'm assuming you have a 4-speed.
"Also the little steel wire that I believegoes on to one of the bards too"...
Jack,
When they changed to the larger bushings they also changed the bearing supports. The larger strut rods will bind on the '71 supports unless you do some grinding.

Hi Ken,
The injectors will have 12 volts anytime the key is on run. The computer controls the ground side. Check for ground pulse with a test lite or Noid lite. A DVOM can't keep up with the pulses 10/second..
Mike
Lance,
With the wheel off the ground grab it at 9 & 3 o'clock and twist it back and forth. You should feel a little play. To check for stub axle wear push in hard at the 12 o'clock position.
Mike
Hi Lance,
One possibility is a brake hose coming apart inside not allowing the brakes to fully release after applying. Have you checked for excessive play in the wheel bearings?
Mike
Bill,
It's most likely a bad front diff mount cushion. You can see the lower cushion between the frame and diff mount. Reach over the top and should feel the upper cushion peeling out or gone altogether.

Since Fastcorvette is a supporting vendor here at the moment I have deleted my reply. I will be happy to answer any questions privately or by email.

This may sound like a strange question, I'll explain later. What color was the gearbox? Were the splines on the pitman arm painted silver? When did you buy it?
