How to change the shifter boot

The shift knob is the hardest to remove, but it is reletively easy once you've removed that. Remove the shift pattern face plate, the knob is keyed to secure it. Remove the key using a small pair of vise grips. You may need to pry the key upward to get enough out to grab with the vise grips...

    LS7 Rocker Arm Failures

Again, just to let you know, Jesel makes a set of shaft mounted rockers for the LS7 head. I don't have a price, but I get this awful feeling that they are not cheap. It may be worth it to ease any fears during high rpm research which could be tomorrow and the next day, and the next day, and the...

    C5 Corvette Build Sheet Found

Yes, if anyone is curious where they are that's I guess where they'd be. Mine wasn't in totally good condition, but I now have it.

    C5 Corvette Build Sheet Found

Guess where I found it? I found it behind the front bumper inside the steel reinforcement that the air filter housing attaches to. I took the nose off for a new Tiger Shark bumper and there it was. The car is a 99' Coupe, so if the same guy was on duty that day, that is where you will find yours.

    Turn signal help please.

I would try the left side turn signal relay on the right side. If it blinks normal, buy a new relay. I hope the C5 still uses the relays, but not sure. ;shrug

    Engine blown - arg!

There are 3 things I'd recommend if you have to go deeper into this to save you time if anything happens again. A double row timing chain, 2-piece timing cover and ARP head fasteners, if you don't have any of these already. It's a live and learn type of thing to minimize any pain later on. Hope...

    Hand Held Programer

Just to add to what Hib said, the majority F-body guys generally do know alot more about the technical aspects of their cars and how to fix them more than the majority of Vette owners. We already had this discussion on LS1tech.com a long time ago. It came down to the younger guys really can't...

    Hand Held Programer

I'm a big fan of dyno tuning, but if I were in your situation, I would go with Diablosport and take advantage of their internet tune download capabilities. It costs around $100.00 in addition to the cost of the Diablosport programmer. The way it works is you download Diablosport's tuning data...

    Hypertech Programer III

I'm hoping my current project makes it into the mag. when I'm done. ;) I did have one bad experience with Road and Track magazine. I sent an email in regarding comments made in an article regarding Corvettes. They printed my response in the mag. but edited what I said, and changed the meaning...

    Hypertech Programer III

BTW, Congrats. on making it into Vette magazine fixvet. Nothing beats an actual dyno tune when it comes to getting all the hp you can out of your engine. These LS motors tend to leave the factory with a fairly rich A/F ratio @ 12.5:1. Once these engines are on the dyno and leaned out, there...

How much did you pay for your Corvette

The C5 Hardtop is a smart, excellent choice. You can remain in a late model Corvette with a huge performance potential after the house is done. The best of both worlds here in my opinion. I can imagine the fun of planning that new garage and the enjoyment of modding that FRC in it's new home. ;)

News: 750HP Corvette Z03 Concept headed for production

I don't know what the exact limit of the LS7 is N/A, but from what I've seen 700hp seems really hard to achieve. I've seen forged, head/cam, header LS7's mostly in the 620hp range. Nothing to sneeze at. Add a F1 procharger to this setup and 800rwhp is doable.

News: 750HP Corvette Z03 Concept headed for production

It definitely has the C3 look in it. Hopefully it looks better in person. 750hp is fairly stout though. It is starting to grow on me ;)
