Air compressor Piping

Hey IH2LOSE, I just purchased a Porter Cable air compressor (4 HP, 130psi, 9scfm). The owners manual has a big WARNING statement about plastic pipe. Here is what it says: "Plastic or PVC pipe is not designed for use with compressed air. Regardless of its indicated pressure...

Off-again/on-again super-Corvette is definitely on, GM performance cars chief says

They could include the cost of a driving school in the purchase price. Then and only when the new prospective owner completes the school will the car be delivered. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> For many pilots who are buying...

my...my...Remo....that is a lame excuse to go Porsche, Bemmer, and MB hunting:D. Heck if I had a modded vette like that I'd be hunting every day:lou . Or is this a shake down cruse for the Sunday get-together at Hillcrest? You know Todd will be there with that Z of his just looking for...

    diy projects

Now if someone would post some easy build cabinets for the DIY I've been pricing cabinets for the garage and I believe I could build them cheaper :eek Hey Rare81, We remodeled the kitchen last summer to include new cabinets. I took the old cabinets and kitchen counters out to the garage and put...

    ordered new garage this weekend

JJS, I know what you mean. Lucky for me I had the Z up North with me and the C4 was being painted. So the timeing worked out. I probably should think about a second coat this summer some time. Thing is though every time I come home more stuff keeps appearing in the garage:eyerole...

    ordered new garage this weekend

Wazz-up John. Talking to you from the sunny south. don't know about the "UCoat it" epoxy. I used the epoxy from Bear(sp) paints that I picked up from Home Depo. I put mine down last summer after the new concrete set up for about 90 days and so far it is holding up every well. I do have a few...

silly question.....but need location of battery in '78

Oh yeah, lots of fun and you may even invent some new words.:L I hope i don't have to do that for a long time. I will say that there is a lot more room to work on stuff than my C4 or the Z and thing appear to be a lot more simple to work with. By the way, nice pace car. I have always been a...

this is an L82 with 4 speed Lucky dog... I was searching for one but ended up with the auto. Mine is an L82 as well. I do have a question that someone may be able to answer. What RPM do you guys normally run when doing 65-70 MPH? The trip home in mine the other day the tack was showing...

Redone valve covers on '78 L82

I could believe it either:( . Hell for that find of money I can have them sand or bead blasted and armed with a $10.00 can of paint they will look just as good. A new decal is $7.00. The hardware, if you want chrome, is $15.00 so I would still have $$ left over to buy other goodies. :pat H.D.

Redone valve covers on '78 L82

The valve cover gaskets probably just need to be replaced, but since you're going to be taking the covers off, why not just replace those too? Ecklers wants ~$240 per cover. I think I can clean the old ones up and make them look great with new paint and such. I agree that antifreeze is...

Redone valve covers on '78 L82

Barry's right. I tried to have my intake manifold "cleaned up" due to yellowing last year, but it turned out it had been clear coated by the previous owner. Good morning John. If clear coating causes that much trouble then I'll pass. How about powder coating them? I have seen soom of the work...

Redone valve covers on '78 L82

Thanks Barry. i'll have to call around and find out the going rate. I wouldn't BC/CC them for the paint. Typically clear coat paints tend to yellow on engine parts from the heat. Oh ya. For got about the heat:SLAP . Krylon, Dupli-Color, or whatever paint in semi-gloss black and it works...

Redone valve covers on '78 L82

They do look real nice. I think you've given me my first project on the '78 I just bought. I need to pull the valve covers to R&R the gaskets. So while i have them off, I'll take them some were to have them bead blasted. Any idea what that would cost? I'll do the painting my self. I think I'll...

Thanks MRANT212. See what happens when you let two vettes share the same garage:ugh. If you aren't carefull you could end up with a 3rd one. At least they don't reproduce like Guppies. I'll have see about getting some sort of contraception:L. :w H.D.
