Turn signal indicator lights do not work, in my 79

I just picked up a 79 L48/350hr/370:1 gears. Paint is original, and great, interior is very good, all original. 67,000 miles. It has the original exhaust as well, I'm getting duels on Thursday. I have a few little issues, one is the turn signal/hazard lights don't work. Can anybody tell me...

wave in urethane bumper cover, can it be worked out?

Thanks. I've about given up on buying this car. The bumper cover was the deal breaker.

wave in urethane bumper cover, can it be worked out?

Ok, so I missed something. I didn't know about the reinforcement, but I've never removed a bumper cover either. Will it damage the cover if I attempted to remove it?

wave in urethane bumper cover, can it be worked out?

I read the article. Unless I missed something the article was about repairing polypropylene, not polyurethane. Polypropylene is thermal plastic, meaning it has a melting point, then it's molded. Urethane is heat set, meaning it hardens as it is heated. With urethane's properties, I'm afraid...

wave in urethane bumper cover, can it be worked out?

This might sound far fetched, but If I carefully backed the car into a towel wrapped poll until the bowed out spot is where it should be, and carefully heated the stressed area until it conformed permanently. The issue is; urethane is heat set, meaning it doesn't harden as it cools. So would...

wave in urethane bumper cover, can it be worked out?

Your observation about the pulled out bumper cover was very astute. The possible paint damage that could occur if I try to straighten it is very possible, and I don't know what the bumper was like before the paint job. He won't go lower that $10,000. I offered $8500, but turned my offer down...

wave in urethane bumper cover, can it be worked out?

This one is mine. Compare the bumpers and the bottom edge. I see the red one is pulled out. I am considering buying the red one. They are both 77's.

wave in urethane bumper cover, can it be worked out?

could this be done without removing the cover? I've never removed one, but I've heard they don't always go back on nicely.

wave in urethane bumper cover, can it be worked out?

I've been trying to upload a pic of the rear of a 77. There is a wave where the lettering is in the urethane, and I would like to find a way to get it out.

    looking at a 77 L48

The car has been chronically sitting, It has one of the best bright red paint jobs I've ever seen, and the carpet, and seats have been re upolstered. The previous owner put L82 emblems on the cowl, but it's not, it's an L48 I consider that frowned upon. The gears feel like 3:70:1. A horn is...

    looking at a 77 L48

I've been shopping for another vette, and I came across a 77 L48. Seems like a nice enough car, but I hear a noise in the tail pipes when running. Hard to describe a sound like this but it's a whispery sound tse tse tse. I thought it was something leaking past the valves maybe. Possibly...

Looking at "frost blue" 79 vette

I'm looking at a 79 frost blue l48 350thr. The color really looks white, but has a hint of baby blue. I can't find it as a color option that year. His mechanic attempted to fix the horn, but couldn't fix it. It sat out in the rain, and there was water on the passenger floor. The steering...

using grease tool to grease spindle bearings

The guy that owns the Corvette shop has done many many grease jobs, and he said there is no danger of damaging seals, also the grease migrates to the outer barrings. So, I had it done today. I'll keep my fingers crossed. He told me he put 50 pumps in each side. His opinion was that the...

using grease tool to grease spindle bearings

I know a Corvette shop that will use the grease tool to grease the spindle bearings. The owner says it's works well, and the grease will migrate to the outer bearings, and should be good for over 50000 miles. Any input on this will be appreciated.

    Exhaust for 77

I have long tube headers, and true duels on my 77. Michigan doesn't seem to mess with emissions. I would NOT consent to a cop looking (searching) my car. EVER

Better aftermarket heads for my 77 L48

Yes, chambers are way too big. I do believe also the 882's can be prone to cracking, but not as bad as the 624 series that came a year later. It's 624 I believe, and they were very crack prone.

    Concerns buying rebuilt engine?

It would depend on the asking price if you want numbers matching. There are all types. I know a guy with a 69 who just got done building a 454 to ove 500 something. Too much torque for a M21, and the differential, but that was his thing I guess.

    Concerns buying rebuilt engine?

I always thought a 427 was roughly the same engine whether it came from a Vette, or from a Chevelle.
