    Dealer Zone Number Help

There's also a fourth source, which we have NO access to, and that is the NCIB database. NCIB is the National Insurance Crime/Clearance Bureau? EVERY GM vehicle made was insured for transit from the plant to the dealership. The insurance companies kept/have records of the cars they shipped...

    Dealer Zone Number Help

As far as Dealer Numbers within various zones, I know of several sources, some accessable, some not. First is the NCRS DB. They have a "Zone/Dealer" database which is on their forum. Second is Al Grenning. Al advertises Zone/Dealer info in the NCRS Driveline. Third is "Triple A...

    Dealer Zone Number Help

Thank you, Barry. I don't know why my scanner "struggles" with sizes, too big, too small. :) Rob. Regarding the Zones, you have to realize that these Zones encompassed areas greater than the name implies. That Portland, Maine zone likely extended into NH, maybe Vermont, etc. The name...

    Dealer Zone Number Help

Now, here's a HUGE picture. Sorry I'm struggling with image sizes. I scanned this at 8 1/2 x 11. Don't know how it got so huge. :) Hey, at least you can read it. Chuck I deleted the HUGE scan. Thanks to BarryK. Chuck

    Dealer Zone Number Help

Here's a scan of the Zone list from an old Corvette Restorer magazine. Sorry it's so lousy. Had to reduce it from 8 1/2 x 11 actual size to upload to "conform" to Forum rules as to size. Chuck

    Dealer Zone Number Help

I can add a little bit, Rob. I can't tell you WHEN the Zone/Dealer listings started, but I do know the following. When it began, each dealer withing EACH zone was alphabetized. They were assigned a number. So Zone 1 Dealer 1 might be "Aardvark Chevrolet", Dealer 2 might be "Apple...

Prduction numbers for 63 Split Window Fuelie

According to the Black Book, there were 2610 FI's built in 63. This figure represents both coupes and convertibles. There were ROUGHLY 10000 coupes, and 10000 convertibles built in 63, so one would have to assume 1/2 of production. My best guess? 1305 :) Truth is that nobody...

Low Beam Works On Bright Not On Low

As Mikey says, the "low beam" is a "3 prong" bulb. Has 2 filaments, one for low, one for high. The "high beam" is a "2 prong" bulb....has only one filament...when the high beam comes on. Sounds like your low beam filament is burned out, a VERY common situation. Chuck

    IPOD, How do you Install?

I have an IPOD. I use the FM transceiver. It works on the FM band down in the 88 range. Works well, even with the dead stock radios with analog tuners in both my 63 and 69. It also works well in my 2000. NO WIRING needed. Plug it into the cigarette lighter, tune your radio to the proper...

One more question... C1 door panels

That's what I do. They come in various sizes. They're color coded to indicate the sizes too. Push/tap them into the hole. The panel screw will then screw into the insert. Works great. My cars have LOTS of plastic drywall anchors in 'em. :) Chuck

    65-replating bumpers

Librandi's does most of the chrome plating for ALL "car guys" in my area (Baltimore). They do excellent work. Todd Librandi, the owner is an honest guy. If he's busy, he'll look you right in the eye and tell you that your parts will take 3-4 months. He won't string you along and have you...

    Owners of Straight 6 Corvette?

I drive it very little. As a matter of fact, I've put less than 1000 miles on it since it was restored and back on the road in about 1990. It's always been pretty much a show car/trailer potato. History? I've traced the history back from me to Scottsdale, Arizona in the early 60's. The...

    Sticking door handle

New handle. :) Sounds like yours is worn out, sloppy in the hinge area, allowing it to rub. You can grind on it, but I'd get a new one. Chuck

    No more parades for Baby

I never do parades with ANY of my cars. I get a lot of flack from my "buds" for not doing it. Overheating is the main issue, riding the clutch is another. Riding the "Homecoming Queen" is another activity that I've successfully avoided too. NOT my thing. :) Chuck

need some help on value...63 with factory AC

63 factory air cars are very rare. I think they made only several hundred of them. Roadsters are more rare than coupes with AC. Value? Don't ask me. :) Prices have gone crazy lately. Chuck

    What color is it?

Yellow with saddle/beige interior is a classic combination. :) I LOVE yellow cars. Chuck

    What color is it?

The "L" is a carryover from the full size Chevy line, where two-tone cars were available. It means "lower". Full size two tone cars were coded "U" for upper, and "L" for lower. Chuck

    Is there life after having a 67 w/3 x 2 400

The choice of transmissions doesn't matter one bit to me. My 63 is a 4 speed car, while my 54, 69, and even my 2000 are automatics. I'm 58 years old. Have no prosthetic parts yet :) My wife is also a major car enthusiast. A little known fact is that she is a NCRS Master Level judge...

    Is there life after having a 67 w/3 x 2 400

Love my 69. It's the best "driver" I have. My wife and I have taken it on NCRS road tours from Baltimore to St. Louis, Bowling Green, Long Island. Reliable...FAST....no problem car. Ran a "best" of 13.7's at the drag strip. Consistentl runs 13.8's. The 3.36 rear is great. LOVE the...
