    I need some opinions...

Looks like the dealership is willing to take the majority of the cost (if not the whole cost) to replace the clutch again. We're thinking it's the flywheel. Dealership tried to resurface it and we're thinking it knocked it out of balance or made the surface uneven. I've found the replacement...

    I need some opinions...

Rather than vent I'll just get to the point. Took corvette in to have clutch replaced after it went out last September. Took it to dealership and had it replaced( clutch, resivior, clutch pedal assembly,ect...) Got corvette back in November. Since then I have put a little over 2300 miles on the...

    Charging question

I had the same problem with my 1990. Replaced my alternator and everything works great.

    Running lights

Nope...one click and everything turns on and pops up.

    Running lights

    That sucks...:mad

    Running lights

Sounds like something is up with my headlights and running lights. Headlights come up on first click which is where I'd assume would be running lights only.

    Running lights

Dont want to unplug anything. Just didn't know if it was possible to run the car at dusk when I dont really need the headlights up, just the running lights.

    Running lights

Ummmm... I'm confused. Am I supposed to know the answer to my question? Is the answer that obvious?

    Running lights

Is it possible to run the running lights on my 90' without having my headlights come up?

    Radiator refill procedure...

I've looked around and found multiple opinions on the proper way to refill the coolant system on a 1990 c4. I'm getting ready to flush the system again and want to do it myself rather than continue to pay 100 bucks an hour to have my mechanic do it. Draining the system seems pretty basic like...

Question: What is this and what is it for..?

    Thanks...I'll put it back in.

Question: What is this and what is it for..?

Trying out a new cold air intake system and while removing the factory air filter housing I found a sheet of black plastic between the filter housing and the front bumper...no idea what its for. Do I need to keep it, or is it just a barrier for dirt? Seems that if its removed I'd get more air...

    Question about valve guides...

Actually, no. I've learned my lesson going through the dealership. This was 3 local shops, one of which told me it was going to be necessary to pull the engine and do a rebuild. HAHAHAHA...they're so dumb. The one "reputable" shop still wants 500.00 to do it. The blue smoke isn't bad, I just...

    Question about valve guides...

They "recommended" I change the guides. I guess this is another way for them to cash in. Thank you for your help with this...

    Question about valve guides...

Just spoke with a few mechanics. They tell me that the heads need to come off to do the guides. Is this true? If so, I'm just going to put better heads on. Decided that if I'm doing the seals might be a good idea to do the guides.

    Question about valve guides...

I've noticed on start up some blue smoke from the tailpipes on my 90'. Worried that I'm burning oil with only 46,000 miles on the engine, I asked another c4 owner what it could be. He said that in his case with his 89' c4 his L98 didn't come with valve guides and he had valve guides installed to...

Looking to buy 1995 Corvette in fair shape - looking at some advice

I bought my 1990 that sat for around 4 years. GREAT condition...so I thought. 38K miles, beautiful paint, great interior, no shakes or crazy vibrations but still has cost me 7000 dollars in first year in parts (clutch, emission controls, tires, complete fluid change out, diagnostic work...

    Tires...

I'm using bfg g-force on the front right now. The rears (after doing a tire rotation)are the original Goodyear factory tires. Sounds like I should just stay with 275's. Thanks for the help. I'll order the bfg's for the rear.

    Tires...

So the other day I blew a rear tire. No, not by way of doing burn outs, but rather by a very large piece of steel shaped like a large animal tooth. So I buy a new tire and rotate the tires so I have even tread wear for the rear axle. Problem... Original owner never rotated tires so the front...
