Cost of an oil change at dealer?

Remo - they don't break it down. Or if they do I don't look at the bill. I usually wait for the "oil change special." Plus with 5 cars in the family, we are their best customers, in the last year we've replaced 2 complete sets of tires (Toyota Tundra & Jeep Cherokee) and 2 sets of 2 tires...

    Mix & Match Tires?

Me either - especially after having driven almost 1,000 miles on a nearly-flat runflat, with no ill effects (long story involving TMS dead battery). If anyone complains about the ride, they can walk. ;LOL

    Frozen C5

Settle down, Remo! They don't use salt or anything on the roads here - the rain was too little for even the intermittent setting on the wipers - and it was too cold to wash it afterwards without freezing. It's only dust spots! I can use my California Car Duster (whipping out duster as she sees...

I don't get it. Signed, Blonde AND A Girl

    Frozen C5

Right on, Hotwing! Don't tell Remo but I drove my car all weekend in the "rain" (that's what they call it here, in Western Washington it was known as "partly cloudy")...and I didn't wash it. :ohnoes Signed, Waiting For The Corvette Cops

Cost of an oil change at dealer?

I pay $40 + tax for the "high performance" oil change at my local Firestone. Plus I get a 5% discount if I use the Firestone card. AND...the mechanic that does my car (I do believe they fight over it!) owns a C4 so I know he's doing right by me. :-)

    Frozen C5

Remo, what kind of knuckleheads would decide to have a Corvette rally over Donner Pass in October?!?!?! (cough Californians cough) :chuckle

1999 corvette auto trans Column Lock Problem

Not hard for me to believe. Don't make me relate the story of how I had to take my car to Champion FOUR TIMES because it wouldn't shift out of Park when it was cold (and by cold I mean, had sat for more than 2 hours) - because they didn't believe me. The last time they finally fixed the...

    Frozen C5

It was 69 here on Monday - I wanted to put the top down! WOO HOO, I'd almost get excited - but they are predicting up to 5 ft. of snow in the mountains over the weekend. I lucked out BIG TIME so far this winter, there have only been 2 days I haven't driven Big Red to work, and both times it...

1999 corvette auto trans Column Lock Problem

Hi OB! :w I feel your pain, I can't (or more like don't) want to relate the problems I've had with CHAMPION CHEVROLET here in Reno. Their service dep't. outright s*cks as it has been my misfortune to find out. Have you tried the dealership in Carson City? Barring that, a call to...

    Happy Birthday C5 Corvettes!

My C5 turned 9 on 10/3/06 (I know this because I had to take the door panel off and the date was written in big, proud yellow numbers). It is aging VERY gracefully! It doesn't look a day over 30,000 miles!! :-)

Is there an engine designated LTS ?

just goes to show, those people on that "other" forum don't know what they're talking about. WINK WINK I was a little confused myself because the "conversation" up to that point was all about the LT5 and then they slipped in "LTS".

Is there an engine designated LTS ?

from "another" Vette forum: 1995 was the ZR-1's last year. Mercury Marine in Stiliwater, Oklahoma, completed all LTS engines in November 1993. Tooling, owned by GM, was removed from Marine's factory and all engines, specially sealed, were shipped to Corvette's Bowling Green assembly plant for...

    Saved from the freezing rain.

HA! I didn't leave work early enough yesterday...we had rain all day until the second the sun went down at 4:59, by the time I walked the 10 minutes to my car in the parking garage it was a white-out. So I crept home at 20 mph, thank goodness it's only 2 miles and no hills. WARNING: Do not...

    Saved from the freezing rain.

I drove the Vette to work today, in the rain. It has now turned to snow. The things I do to get out of work early!!!!

    Saved from the freezing rain.

Weenies! As long as the interior is vacuumed and armour-alled, it looks fine to me. :w That being said, I will no doubt be struck by 10" of snow covered with a sheet of frozen rain tonight. :ugh I have Old Yeller ('74 Jeep Wagoneer) gassed up and ready to roll just in case...;)
