What is the reason to ask for a printout of the calibrations before the procedure is completed?
I have not had the PCM in my 1999 C5 updated for several years, although I have switched to the new Delco plugs. I will probably have the dealer perform the PCM upgrades this Spring, when I take it...
The drain udders you mentioned from the driver's side drain the cowl (not the a/c). There are THREE udders on the driver's side - the third one is behind the other two. You can reach it with your hand - just be careful and reach further back under the cowl.
The right side cowl drain can be...
Did your friend ask the dealer service manager or the part's manager why it is taking so long to get the part?
Usually, a car is provided under the GMPP when the repairs take overnight or there is a delay in the part arrival. Did your friend get a replacement vehicle to drive?
Good luck -...
I recently change the rear differential lube on my C5 (purchased new) after 45,000 miles. I drained the fluid into a clean pan, then into a "see-through" plastic jug.
The old fluid was dark, but not like dirty oil. The new GM lube was honey color.
There is actually three drain udders on the left (driver) side, under the cowl. The third one is a little further back but can be reached with your hand.
The head-up display was first available on the 1999 C5 - I know, as I ordered this option when I purchased by 1999 C5.
The active handling and traction control first became available as a mid-year, 1998 model option. It was available as an option on the full model year 1999 C5, and later...
Check with Chevrolet customer service to request the zone manager's name and contact information. Also - check the telephone number listings - the Chevrolet Zone Office in my area is listed in the telephone book.
You will never be happy with this dealer's service and / or repairs. You may...
I purchased a GM front end bra for my 1999 C5 coupe from my dealer and use it ONLY on road trips. I bought the car new and have had the bra since then. It fits very well and was reasonably priced. It has sustained several "cuts" from road debris but protected the paint perfectly.
Good luck...
The latches are fastened to the body underneath the carpet covers. The carpet pieces are easy to remove - just "pop" them off (or the side that is loose) and tighten the fasteners that hold the latch.
Good luck.
I had repeatedly "charge system fault" DIC messages on my 1999 C5 coupe when starting. The dealer technician was stumped and called Chevrolet Technical Assistance. The charging system and the battery tested okay.
They immediately knew what the problem was - loose ground connections below the...
Hib,
Thanks for the information.
I wish Goodyear would develop a runflat tire for the C5 that was not so noisy. I like the idea that the Goodyear EMT has a 200 mile tire life at zero pressure, but I hate the loud noise that they generate.
The Goodyear EMT noise was one of the main reasons...
Here is a link to a TSB for a noisy fuel pump - 1997 & 1998 C5: http://corvetteactioncenter.com/kb/question.php?qstId=238
It is a lot of work to replace it.
My 1999 C5 fuel pump was replaced under warranty - it was very noisy (like a sewing machine) when the fuel level dropped below...
Are you using the correct bulb? Due to the high heat generated by the daytime running light operation, the bulb must be a "high temperature" bulb or it will fail quickly.
The GM part number for the correct front bulb is #12450182.
I hope this helps. Good luck.
