    C7 Taillight haters....rejoice.....

Point well taken, but ... ... any PROMinent ECM coder could write a new program and match it to the physical attributes of the engine. With an actual C7 on hand at their facilities, the aftermarket companies can read the electronic inputs that manage the engine operations and which ports on...

East Coast T Top in Bristol PA - Has anyone bought a top from them?

My aftermarket Targa top is garbage. I can't find anywhere on it who made the piece of crap, but the welds on the front brackets broke off, it doesn't fit flush to the windshield or roof mounting and it has no alignment pins at all. And it squeeks like a mouse orgy. Wish I had a real 84-86 top.

    C7 Taillight haters....rejoice.....

C'mon now people ... ... how many aftermarket mod kits are there for EVERY generation of Corvette? And how many are designed to put older design cues onto newer models, like the C1 retro-kit for the C5? How about the Avelate and Tigershark customs and dozens of scoop, wing, ground effect and...

    2014 C7 Corvette Stingray Unveiled!

It's starting to grow on me. I can't help ... sorry. I'm still put out by the rear window treatment, but the rest of it gets sharkier and sharkier every time I look at it. And that engine. Ooh-rah! I think it goes best in darker colors and wheels, like a Streetfighter look.

Good Lord !! NO!!! That Thing Is BUTT UGLY

It should have its own movie. I'm thinkin' "Corvette Summer 2."

    2014 C7 Beautiful Poll

My first impression was bad, but I quickly realized it was the garish color that put me off. There's a small version of the car in dark gunmetal that looks quite nice, although count me in with the group who doesn't care for the roof treatment. Full hatchback glass is my personal preference...

News: The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette: What We Know So Far And What It Needs to Succeed

Hib ... buddy .... eeeeasy there, big fella. I've read some of your articles and this Forbes guy is hamburger next to your prime rib. He has neither the depth of knowledge and experience with Corvette that you have, nor can he stand against your general automotive expertise. Let him walk on...

2014 C7 Corvette from Car and Driver

You'll always miss your '96 if you get rid of it. Try to keep it even when you get your next Corvette. It's like gold in a safety deposit box, too. I'll get my wrenching fix from our '95, which is awaiting a 4L60E transplant and a new rear main seal. I have a GMC to drive, so I can take my...

2014 C7 Corvette from Car and Driver

Interesting thread to say the least. What I take away from this discussion are three things; 1. I dare not customize my pristine '84. Even though they are as common as mustaches, most are basket cases or far from stock. Even though bought it to drop in a 427 and then trick out the body and...

    C7 Rear “Camaro-esque”Design Poll

It was a song that changed that. "Baby Got Back"

    C7 Rear “Camaro-esque”Design Poll

Remember the last flap over a single detail? When the C6 rolled onto the stage, the front license plate mounting had everyone's knickers in a knot. Don't hear much about that now.

    What's the whistle ?

You are correct about the Throwout Bearing. But the Thrust Bearing is a small brass colored bushing pressed into the rear center of the crankshaft. It's purpose is the keep the spline shaft from wobbling and is very important despite its minor appearance. If the whistle doesn't adjust out and...

Help! If there are so many '84's, why can't I find parts?

While you have it apart ... ... inspect all the mounting brackets, especially the one holding the power steering pump. My previous '84 had a lot of problems similar to yours and I spent months chasing leaks and vibrations. The final fix was a new power steering bracket. The old one had...

    Question: I have a '95 Coupe with a whining transmission ...

It took me a moment to get it, but it came to me in the end ... LMAOPMP! I put the '95 on jackstands and did a close in-car inspection of the two and saw no differfences. The Camaro box even has the overhead bolt holes all tapped, threaded and ready. I cleaned it up spotless and dropped the...

    2014 engine

Interesting observation. In this age of engine covers and shrouds, an engine that looks goos without artificial cosmetics would be refreshing.

    Question: I have a '95 Coupe with a whining transmission ...

I usually, but don"t, have a factory service manual. All I have is a Chilton's and a Hanes, but they are the same thing and both, essentially, worthless. Only the Helm's gets into the fine details, but I can't spring for the $100.00 + just now. So ... since the trans needs work anyway, I'll...

    Question: I have a '95 Coupe with a whining transmission ...

... and a friend gave me a good, used 4L60E from a '97 Camaro Z28 that threw a rod. So, my question is whether or not this is a bolt-in swap once I put on the Corvette tailshaft, dipstick tube, cooling lines and possibly the shift lever. The electronic shift connector looks the same on the...

    2014 C7 Corvette LT1 Engine Photos

My '84 is a good example of a first-year body and chassis change. Only the small block with the Crossfire was a carry over, but the rest of the car was a total departure from the C3. And, it was only offered as a coupe withn the only options being the type of seats, the colors in one or...

    2014 C7 Corvette LT1 Engine Photos

Now this ... THIS ... is the kind of red meat we've all been waiting for. Enough talk about styling. When you look at engineering in the league of this all-new engine, your attention is quickly focused on the obvious advancements as well as the more subtle gizmoids and gadgetrons that will be...
