Help! Disapointed 1/4 mile times any suggestions (bummed out

Sometimes a little goes a long way. Swap out your tranny fluid for B&M TrickShift and your oil for synthetic. The oil will improve lubrication and the fluid will give you a more solid pull and shift. You may even want to invest in a B&M torque converter for a higher stall speed.

How to cure poor gas milege

I get 20 mpg with my '84 ... ... and I haven't even been into the engine since I bought it a month ago except to check for leaks and levels. My previous '84, which had over 150,000 miles as opposed to 53,000 on this one, got about 24 mpg after I tuned it because I used platinum plugs...

    Too Good To Be True

'preciate it. I ordered a new-made repro motor from Eckler's, due to arrive any minute now. Meanwhile, I took out the old one and was quite pleased with the condition of everything inside. There was hardened grease and a little surface rust on a few parts, but otherwise it was a restorer's...

    Too Good To Be True

Funny thing is ... ... I was looking for an '84 in fair to good condition to make a custom. I have a 427 on an engine stand that I planned to top with a dual-quad intake and substitute the two TBIs instead of carbs. Then, all the electronics would be compatible and I could size up the...

    Too Good To Be True

I know '84s are the least collectible of the C4s, but when I came across a nice red '84 Coupe with only 54,000 miles on it ... for just $5,500.00 ... I jumped on the deal. The car is a virtual time capsule, with everything stock and in miraculous conditiuon. I've had it about two weeks now...

Photo's of my still stock engine bay.

Nice and clean ... crisp as a new dollar bill. The sigs are a nice touch, too. Do you use a sealer to protect them?

The Media finally gets it right

Anyone notice the story about America losing it's favorite cars on the MSNBC home page? They rated Corvette as the A-Number-One all time favorite and most loved of them all. Well ..... DUH!

    95 Auto trans hums

My Sweetie's '95 coupe has a hum in the auto trans in every gear except park and neutral. I serviced the trans with new filter, gasket and cherry juice and there was no residue of any kind in the pan ... no metal shavings, clutch surface or abrasives at all. The trans still hums and she said...

    Why GM can't survive bankruptcy

Well ... I suggest we Faithful form a consortium and, as a group, buy out the Bowling Green plant and build Corvettes in the Ferrari/Lamborghini way ... exotic supercars.

    Lady in Distress

It's working. I bought the book and was able to gather together and sell two 454 rebuildable cores for $500.00 each. I also have some interest in three used long blocks at $700.00 each. And I was able to move out assorted custom parts like valve covers and aftermarket distributors for a...

    Lady in Distress

Good stuff, Guys. The books will also give me the specs for measuring bores. Looks like a few of the piston and rod sets are race parts, so they should be easier to group together, especially if the block was punched out to take them. She's cooking me lasagna tonight and tomorrow we cruise...

    Lady in Distress

My thanks. If nothing comes up, I'll still find a way, but this forum of experts and aficionados holds a teasure trove of knowledge and experience. I'll also poke around the site and look for nuggets. You da man!

    Lady in Distress

I need some ideas to help a sweet lady with big financial problems. Her hubby died of cancer two years ago without insurance or survivor benefits, but he had lots of big toys. So she's been selling power boats, travel trailers, pickup trucks, tools, hot rods and everything she could to pay off...

    Hood Scooped Test Mule Caught!

Sure ... and they often go to lengths to hide the truth from the paparazzi, so the breadbox makes sense on a mule. But you know we was just wishing out loud, right?

    Hood Scooped Test Mule Caught!

Maybe the Powers That Be finally listened to us Little People and did something about the front license mounting. Also, I hope that scoop is just for testing ... looks pretty boxy and unflattering of the C6 lines. A '67-style stinger would be sweet, or a good old L88 Crackerbox ...

Rumor Mill: V6 Corvette is Coming

It is a good concept, but not as any stripe of Corvette. Give it its own name and leave the iconic Corvette clean to stand out and shine in the light of its own legend. The names Solstice and Skye are lame and wussy, so if they want to top the GM V6 roadster trio with something hot, go for...
