In the car today I got that annoying 1-4 shift lockout. I don't know what the point is of this. I think the parameters of this are that you have to be accelerating at a slow rate (ie not racing) and its the window after 14 mph. Well, I don't know about your Corvette, but if I go into 4th gear...
So, I was changing the oil this weekend and I took a look up at the exhaust manifolds. Just a quick run-down of what I'm doing, I'm taking out the whole stock exhaust (manifolds to the tail pipes) and putting in the whole deal (headers, all new pipes, etc. etc.).
Well looking up at the...
A quick question about that Valentine 1 (or any other radar detector for that matter, I guess): you just use the suction cups to put it on your front windshield, right? And how does it get power? You run a wire down to the cigarette lighter inlet? I'm not too wild about wires just hanging...
That is some good stuff. Looking at your list of modifications, I'm going to take a few of the same routes as you did. I'm throwing for all new exhaust and I'm going to go with the CAI as well. As far as the larger diameter TB, I think I'll probably stick with the one I got now. I heard some...
Will it really?? I see your list of mods, and for the most part it is some relatively good work. Can your LT4 run with a Z06? Or was that just a my-car-is-faster-then-yours (for lack of better words) comment? I'm curious, because it would really warm my heart to know that with some work on...
I'm looking for full new exhaust for my '96 LT4, and I've narrowed it down to the Melrose C4 Smooth flow exhaust package. Is there anybody that uses this system that could give me some insight? How do you like it? Any resonance issues? How was the installation? Did it bolt right up with no...
I just called and they're looking for $1600 (not including shipping, which will be quite a bit extra). I didn't talk to Chris, but when I close the deal I'll make sure to go through him. Supposedly he was busy, or something.
I think this Melrose package might be what I'm after. The only...
First off, the motor will slightly shift due to the torque even if the motor mounts are okay. Second off, only one motor mount will go bad (as far as wear pull-off goes) because the twisting motion of the motor is down on one mount and up on the other. These motor mounts don't usually go bad...
Hmmm... I like the looks of that Melrose package for my Corvette. It's everything besides the mufflers, so I can just put muffler-eliminator pipes there. That'll open up some sound.
Any idea what that Melrose package would cost??
And also, I'm assuming that cats (for emissions purposes)...
Right, but I think it's more dependent on the clearance issues of the '96, as compared to the earlier '90s. Not just no LT1/4 possibilities, but nothing past like '91 there.

Is this what you've got? Doesn't look like they have any for a '96 LT4 though.
I can only see TPIS headers that are for C5s. What exactly did you throw up in your C4? Also, was it bolt-on?
And how'd you get away with no cats? You just put straight pipes where the cats were supposed to be?
So I've been looking around for a complete exhaust system (headers to tailpipes) for my 1996 Corvette (CE LT4).
I've looked around at a http://www.lmperformance.com/7010/24.html a Borla system, but I'm not sure if it's what I'm after. I'm looking for loud. Like almost no sound restriction at...
