Nobody mentioned cleaning the electrical connections. Make sure you have good clean grounds especially the bell housing connection. You could be sending the ECU all kinds of bad info if the juice isn't flowing properly. And it doesn't cost any money to do, just a little time.
I would start by cleaning the battery terminals and giving the battery a deep cycle charge. The next step is to clean your grounds, especially the one on the lower bell housing drivers side.
Check your harmonic balancer. They have been known to fail and can cause all kinds of issues. Put a light on it and rev the motor to the range you describe. If you see it wobble it is probably bad.
Check your dipstick and dipstick tube. Make sure your PCV Valve is functioning properly and that breather tube isn't plugged up. In either case you can get pressure in the crankcase and oil will leak out the top of the dipstick tube.
