The rain finally let up and the sun came out yesterday.
Took the 60 for a good ride... about an hour... it was 70 yesterday..
The temp gauge read 220 most of the time.. but the IR gun said different.. Just waiting for the new temp sending unit to arrive..
Good ride... had some rad fluid...

Ok.. here is the latest...
yesterday I went for a drive with my son... notebook in hand and IR gun.. when the gauge read 180 we pulled over .. and with the engine stil running took some temps..
the ambient temp was 45 degrees
the temp sending area measured about 160..
when the gauge read...
I just got an IR gun,, so when it stops raining I will take a drive and get some temperatures.. looks like it may be tomorrow..

So .... I drove the car today... all was great for the first 10 minutes.. the temperature gauge as below 180.. then within a couple of minutes it shot to 210 and stayed between 210 and 220 for the next while.. I pulled over.. it didnt overheat... let it cool down a bit and drove back home.. i...
Thanks for asking.. on Friday i changed the thermostat... the one that was in was a 160degree.. so i swaped it out with a GM 180 Degree..
I replace the clutch fan with a GM one from Paragon.. i could feel a difference jsut standing beside the car with the hood open.. much more air movement...
Stan.. THe car was not driven only started in June.. the car was not driven until September.. debugging.. brakes, clutch, tuning ...etc..
I have really no idea how long the radiator sat around for... years probably.. I dont even know if this is the rad came with the car.. it was probably...
I am not sure if a new thermostat was put in.. so i will change it anyway.. The engine was rebuilt earlier this year. the engine ran in June for the first time since it was rebuilt early this year .. it is numbers matching CS block..

I just had the water pump rebult on my 60... been driving the car today.. pretty nice day her in southern ontario..
Last weekend was the first time I was able to drive the car... so I stuck close to home.. and after a couple of hours of short trips in the neighbor hood.. the water pump gasket...

As I came to the last stop sign back to the home... I could smell that antifreeze smell.. you know the one... There is a leak..

Brought it back yesterday..
