RVDECHI~
What you are asking about is "Clear Bra."
It is made by 2 companys. (3M and Cleartastic.)
The product from 3m is very good.
The only problem with clear bras is they have UV protection. The paint underneath the bra will not fade with exposure but the rest of the car will fade...
I've heard good things regarding Porterfield's product for the Z, but have yet to try them myself. HAWK padlets seem to have good initial bite when cold.
If you are going to use the tender for "extended periods," I would connect it via alligator clamps to the jumping terminals listed in the manual. I've used these terminals for my charger many times over the years.
N atoms and O atoms are the same size. N atoms are inert. O atoms can cause oxidation (duh!)
The only benefit to using N is the reduction of oxidation on the wheel surfaces and the TPMS unit.
A tire's pressure with N vs. ambient air will rise and fall at the SAME rate with the corresponding...
Where did you read that? What is the weight distribution that you thought it was going to be? Why would you want a battery in the trunk (in a vert?)
Why would anyone want GM's problematic dry sump system?
If you have a 2010 GS, please send me your brakes and wheels/tires as my Z06 is in need...
OP~ Does the passenger door open readily? Did you try your other FOB?
Do you have a phone charger anywhere near the ashtray? These give off RFI, bigtime.
Cliffs~
Woman "gets flustered" and jams accelerator in 2009 Corvette. Spins over water main and into house of 9 people, most under 6 years old. (None of them hurt.)
First, I thought Jickson needed to buy an "A". (I know, they're $250!);LOL
This is the first I've heard of weather stripping fragging on a C6. Is there a special product that you (or the orig. owner) put on the rubber in the past? (For "protection" purposes?)
Can you post a pic of the problem? Is it in the corresponding location on the otherside of the car?
Roof...
I wouldn't "store" a Corvette as it's a tremenously BAD investment. It's a car (albeit a fun car) but it's meant to be driven. Don't "save" your car for the next guy. Enjoy your car!
Now, as far as the battery question~
Because of the "DBS" with C6's I'd have a tender on it if you only drive...
OP~ I can't say what your "noise" is but chances are, it's the clutch packs in the rearend. There's a TSB for this.
The clutch resevior under the hood is a different issue. As vett boy stated above, to minimize "sticking clutch pedal" syndrome, you might want to change the res fluid often. The...
Interesting gimmick Chevrolet is using. $5800 is pretty steep for this.
For the customers that "build" their engines, I wonder how the UNION is going to deal with this. Or, is that where the $5800 figure comes from?
I would have liked building my LS7...providing I could use parts that are...
Why would you buy a 3 year old, used Z06 for 64K when you can buy a new one for the same price?
I'd buy a GS vert with paddles.
Remember, I have a Z06 too!
California has RFG (Reformulated gasoline.)
It is mandated by C.A.R.B (Calif Air Resources Board.)
It contains 10% Ethyl alcohol (ethanol.)
Our octane ratings are : 87 & 91 RON (Reserch Octane number)
89 is a blend of the other octanes. (60% 87 & 40% 91)
Actually, the development IS needed. If GM doesn't develope the engine, they will have problems like AUDI does with their DI engine. It takes time/money to work the bugs out.
I guess if GM "goes out of business," then you're right, a new engine won't be needed.
This engine is forced upon...
I've heard the upcoming Z-28 Camaro will get the LS7. Don't know if it'll be "tuned for torque" instead of peak power or not, but it wouldn't surprise me.
