jcostello, did you ever find the date code on your 81? i keep looking at every 81 i see to try and find a lower vin number than mine .i would like to find 4 speed with a lower vin , mine is 400061.

i did't find out abouts lights , but i did find a pin-strip that matchs pretty good on the collector edition. 3m 72551 dark tundra. 150 ft for about 20.00 . it match s aftermarket strip kit good anyways.

it wouldn't hurt to ck brake fluid, if master is leaking into booster. it can be sucked into motor and burned. didn't you say there was no using of oil? something to ck anyways .

yes my 81 is a22, 400061 but on my 82 i couldn't find a trim code. where is it on an 82 the trim code

where did they put build sheets on 81s.I've seen them on backs of seats on some cars. sorry about getting off the subject.

no power mirror. one of the things i like the most,i wish it did, its got 86000 on it now .no glass top don't know if it did at one time. but it is super clean car black on black.

the trim code on mine is a22. 400061 is the last vin #, that is pretty early.

my first 81 vin ended in 5100076. that was about 15years ago the one i have now ends 400061. does anyone have an earlier one ? and who has the last one? just for fun.

est bypass trace the four wires from the distributor housing which join at a common multi-connector,close to the distributor. follow the tan wire with a black stripe(est bypass wire) from the multiconnector. past multiconnector , the est wire has its own,single connector separate this connector.

?????? ck for corrosion in fuse panel. make sure timing is set right or ck it when car is running bad. do headers glow red also?

thanks if they are decals they didn't come in the decal kit. I looked at one car, they appeared to be painted. how ever they appear to be the same blackish brown that the pin stripes are . if i have to, i can mix up something close. but a paint code would be better. ggaagg57.
