The UTQG rating is the same for the Pilot Sport vs Eagle F1 Supercar, reviews seem to indicate that they run 5000 to 15000 longer. I would hope so since the price is as high as the GY. I have 16000 miles on my GY and they are toast, pretty sure I'm headed for the Firestone Wide Oval run flat...
Oh please!! this is hardly news. Maine born and raised and driven hot rods since I was 16. Had to take off more than one "cherry bomb" to get past the annual inspection. Even collected a ticket back in my teen years requiring my exhaust be returned to stock within 48 hours.
Vette Boy, if...
It's my understanding that the available kit no longer works with the visor "home link". The remote FOB is available, in fact I just installed one in my 08. Aside from a little self induced pain it went pretty well.
I pulled the fuse that is on the circuit that goes to the NPP exhaust. I inserted my tester probes to determine which side of the fuse is hot and now the fuse falls out when I try to put it back. How do I fix it! Really loud with the fuse pulled.........:duh
Z51 suspension and Z06 "yes", all others "no" greased mine yesterday afternoon while I was changing the oil. They are on the rear suspension outer links.
My 08 will roll 15k this week and the fronts are about junk. I drive a very crooked road back and forth everyday and challenge every bit of it. Still haven't made up my mind Firestones or the "new" F1 Supercar. Will likely just do the fronts as the rears look to have at least 5-10k more left on...
True story, mine drags on everything higher than horse manure in the road. 3 intersections in Bowling Green of all places everyday to and from work. So far after 18 months the air dam still looks good in spite of the awful noise several times a day. Our recent trip up the Blueridge Parkway saw...
Do whatever is going to make you happy! If the ZO6 is what you want then go for it. The warranty is about up, you might want to negotiate an extended warranty in your purchase or consider purchasing it yourself.
I'll stick with the run flats whatever I replace the supercars with. The Z51 is a performance suspension designed around and for the heavy stiff sidewalls of a runflat. If you never challenge the road or go to the track then non-run flats may be for you, they certainly will be a bit quieter.
My only complaint with the Goodyear Supercars is that they wear out quickly. That being said, I'm pretty certain that I'll go with the Firestone Wide Oval RFT. A bit cheaper than the Goodyear and a higher UTOG number that should equate to longer life. I've read plenty of positive feedback on the...
Where did you start your complaint? tire dealer or GY corporate? I just past the 14k mile mark on my 08 with EMT F1 Supercars, not much tread left on the fronts.
Yes it did! Had the scrubbing noise mostly when cold and usually when turning from the driveway onto the street. Changed the oil yesterday and the noise is gone :upthumbs
Dale be nice to us poor folk that have a paddle shift. It is a lot of work shifting gears. ;LOL
:boogieWell ok......maybe I'll swap for a paddle shift....when I get "OLD" :boogie
Hope ta see ya again sometime Mike meanwhile :Steerenjoy life is "good"
I agree with your anaylgy on the transmission :L You will truly enjoy the GS. I have an 08 Z51, 3lt. The LS3 is a screamer especially with the NPP, the chrome wheels really finish it off. I'm in Bowling Green everyday, love driving em, and enjoy seeing them out and about everday of the year.
I bought the storage bag from GM, (actually found one new the owner didn't want). Slipped the top inside the bag and hung it on the garage wall about 5 feet up and out of harms way.
