    Rear End "Clunk"?

Check drive shaft and half shafts for any play in the u-joints. They are fairly easy to replace. If there is even the slightest play replace all 6 you will be glad you did if you have ever seen the damage to a fibreglass floor when they let go:cry .

    first start after 2 years

I have had major construction in my neighbourhood for the past 2 years. The only way to get on the main street would be to turn my vette into a 4x4. I decided to let her sit on blocks and now after her long slumber I am going to fire her up. When I put her up I put oil in each cylinder (thru...

    correct carb.?? for 72 454

My restoration book shows a rochester q-jet # 7041204 for a 72 454 coupe automatic as the correct carb. The last vin # of 503764 (early 72 ?) could mean it might have a late 71 carb. #.It currently has a 7043200 (not correct for 72) but some say it might be correct.Anyone else know??:confused

    Stress crack touch-ups

The wax when dry will only enhance the cracks.Colour waxes work better.Repairing is very expensive but should (done right) cure the problem. My 72 is very dark black cherry and just after washing I use women's black eye liner over the stress cracks. After everyone stops laughing I will tell you I...

    Front end alignment

I had my 72 aligned and had trouble just getting the align. computer to go back that far for the specs.(ended up using 76 specs.)They start with the back wheels as a reference. If they need to be adjusted and the trailing arm bolt is rusted solid in the bushing they cannot add shims unless the...
