    DCT Filter change

Okay, A couple of weeks ago, my 2021 Corvette was approaching 7000 miles - time to consider getting that first service done which includes the DCT filter change. I make an appointment at my favorite dealer service department and decide to wait (the service writer said that the DCT filter change...

There is a wheel speed sensor on each wheel. These support anti-lock braking and traction control. A sensor or the wiring going to it could be bad. When the butterflies are closed on the throttle body, air is routed around them to allow the engine to idle. There are a couple of holes between...

Been a while since I owned a C4 but I have a couple of suggestions. 1. Clean the throttle body paying attention to the idle air circuits 2. Have the wheel speed sensors checked.

    New Guy

:welcome My wife and I picked up our 21 C8 at the National Corvette Museum back in April after a 9 month wait. It was worth it. Tuna (ex-Hog Driver)

Site Update: 2021 Corvette: Service Update: #N212332820: Service Update - Unable to Access Apps - (Jun 9, 2021)

All these service updates that are related to the computers on the C8 make it sound like I bought a new smartphone that still has too many bugs in the operating system.

    Help! Need your opinion!

Opinion? Everybody's got one (or more). First, ditch the Firestones - they're too old, even if they look great. If you take road trips regularly, buy the A/S4 ZP and live in peace.

    New Ride

I have a new ride - or at least my wife has a new ride. We took delivery of a 2021 Corvette at the National Corvette Museum Monday. Silver Flare, 3LT, FE2 with nose lift,

Question: best cleaner to use on white convertible top (C4)?

I use C-Magic convertible top cleaner. You can get it at the Corvette Store at the NCM. https://corvettestore.com/car-accessories-car-care/c-magic-convertible-top-cleaning-kit-cmagcnvtopkit/

    Fuel additive

The only fuel system additive I use is "BG 44K." It's a fuel system cleaner. I put it in all my cars once a year.

    C5 vs C6

I've had 2 C5s and 3 C6s. I still have my last C6 - 2013 427 Vert 60th Anny. Each new generation offers better ride and handling than the previous. The C6 offers a 6-speed automatic while the C5 has the 4-speed auto. Both can be had with a 6-speed manual (my choice). Generally, buy the...

Why 3 inch vs 2 1/2 inch half shafts?

I thought the bigger, 3-inch half-shafts were used on big block cars to handle the higher torque they could put out.

    40th Anniversary Wheel Options?

That's a start plus checking them for leaks. The FX3 shocks have electrical connections at the top of each shock (front shock connections are obvious with the hood up - rears a little harder to see). I have seen FX3 cars for sale with standard shocks installed - i.e. no electrical connection...

    40th Anniversary Wheel Options?

Make sure the FX3 shocks are working well. They can be expensive to repair/replace.

Thinking about Leaving the Vette World

I understand. I'm 70 and retired. My wife and I get out and walk or bike ride a few times each week just to keep everything moving. Seems to help. Like you, I used to do some routine maintenance on my cars but not anymore. I pay people to do that now. Best wishes with your decision.

Thinking about Leaving the Vette World

As Tom said, you must do what you feel is right. As for ease of getting in and out, you might want to check out an exercise program at your local gym to get all those muscles and joints moving again. As for maintenance, let somebody else do it now and just enjoy the driving.

    The corvette C6

Depends on how far in the future you're talking about. The cost of a good C6 is pretty reasonable right now since it is 2 generations old. The biggest cost of ownership for a young person is insurance. Don't forget to budget for that when you are ready to buy a Vette.
