    Question: Tires

Michelin Pilot Supersport ZP - if you don't drive in the cold or on ice or snow! Great summer performance tire. Michelin Pilot A/S 3 + ZP - if you drive all year around - Not on snow or ice however and not on the track

Blue Bullet Blog-The C6 Ownership Experience

Well, that sucks. Like you, I would have thought Katech had this upgrade down. Guess not. At least they want to make it right.

    Spring Cleaning

I guess I'm a fair weather show person. 40 degrees and 25 MPH winds were not fun. And I take the tire tread cracking warning seriously on my SuperSport tires. I did get to visit for a while and see a new C7 ZR1 and say hi to a few friends before heading home.

    Spring Cleaning

The "Tuna Sport" hasn't seen much driving over the winter. What with temps below 50 and Pilot SuperSport tires, I usually leave it in the garage. Well, Spring has sprung (I hope) and car show season is starting. So, I pulled out the Tuna Sport this week and cleaned it. Here's pictures to...

    Help! 1996 corvette overheating

Appears to be normal. My old '96 LT4 would warm up to around 230 idling and at parade speeds with the AC off. AC on turns on the fans and cools it down. The 'reverse flow' LT1 and LT4 engines were known for this behavior. My old '92 did the same.

    Grand sport wheels offset

Hib posted a C4 suspension chart in the Tech Center. Go here: 1984 - 1996 Corvette Suspension Chart - CorvetteActionCenter.com It includes the wheel specifications for every C4 wheel. I used the ZR1 wheels on my old '92 and they fit just fine but I also installed the GS fender flares. The...

    What Size Wheel Spacers '85 / 16" / 6" BS / 32mm -to- '95 / 17" / 6.9" F & 7.4" R BS 56mm ???

Offset difference is the reason for the spacers. The late C4 wheel is 56mm offset as you noted. Your 16x.5 wheels have a 32mm offset. The late wheels will sit under the car farther without spacers. Doing the math, that's a 24mm difference or .94 inches. I don't know the width of the...

    What Size Wheel Spacers '85 / 16" / 6" BS / 32mm -to- '95 / 17" / 6.9" F & 7.4" R BS 56mm ???

Check out Eckler's - they list spacers for converting early C4s to late C4 wheels. Corvette Wheel Adapter Set, 16" To 17", 1984-1988 Well, the link does seem to work, so search on Ecklers and you'll find them.

    Summer only?

Summer Only: if the temperature is less than 50F, be more careful. If the temp is less than 40F, leave it in the garage. There are posts and bulletins here that point out that the Pilot SuperSport tires may crack in cold weather. Plus they lose traction when they get cold (below 50). So, if...

Rattles? I'm not hearing any in my 427 Vert and it's got 49,000 miles now. Then again, I don't always wear my hearing aids. ;) I ought to drive out to California and have you check it out for me. :D Has it warmed up enough to put that new Katech engine to limits yet?

Which C6 Year Would You Recommend?

That does make it hard. I've owned 3 C6s - 06, 08, 13; so let me put in my 2-cents. First, get the newest one you can afford. Each year, they got better. Now for my personal experience. The 06 was a coupe and my first auto Vette. I didn't like the paddle shift mode. The early 6-sp auto...

Help needed! Noise coming from under car.

The cats on my old '92 started coming apart many years ago. I noticed a rattling noise when I was at an ATM or fast food drive through with the window down. Sounded like a coffee can (tin can) full of marbles being shook. Glad you figured your noise out.

    Question: American flag

Just about any graphics or sign shop in you area can do that for you. 24/7graphix does full body kits in my area.

Help needed! Noise coming from under car.

I have a stethoscope and it has definitely come in handy. I also have a 2-foot long screwdriver that I've used in the past. I put the tip of the screwdriver wherever I think the noise is coming from then put my ear to the handle. Works pretty well.

News: GM To Stop Taking Orders on 2018 Corvettes in November

If GM keeps pushing up production of the next model year, they'll be building 2025 models in 2023. Or, maybe, GM will just skip a model year altogether.
