Check to see if anything is rubbing or binding the throttle cable....I found my air cleaner was rubbing on my throttle linkage when I first got my 'vette and it was the first thing I fixed on it :thumb
I almost joined the flying roof club myself a couple of days ago. Seems that I had a rattle I couldn't pin down after touching the headliner in various spots. Turned out that the 4 locating pin bolts on the targa had worked loose...a quick ratcheting on them solved my rattle.
Sorry to hear...
I've owned three Camaros and the 70 1/2 was my second one....I drove the heck out of 'ol "Frog Face" :L I really think if Chevy is going to stick with a retro look, they would do well to look at 2nd gen stylings.
My flasher button is located just below and forward of the ignition switch. The hazard flasher is connected to the turn signals according to the FSM on the column connector...hope that helps:thumb
I think a retro 2nd gen would be in order right about now. As popular as Camaro turned out, there is no excitement in going backwards. I read the other day that Ford wants to leave the retro look of the Mustang for something totally different.
I don't remember where I read it, but it makes...
It sounds like the same issues I had when I first got my '84, a fuel delivery/pressure problem and not a transmission problem. You might check your inline fuel filter on the frame rail. There is also a regulator between the two TBI's that maintains pressure to the last TBI. that might need...
I have a story like that....The first time I drove my 'vette I reached in and opened the locked door from the inside and the car started clicking and wouldn't start. Found out later that the car alarm was going off but the horns were disconnected so I couldn't hear it and I didn't know what was...
Boom, you come to the rescue again for me! The tray on mine was intact when I changed out the pump (actually checked it by reaching in and trying to move it), which is why I thought the orientation of the strainer was to blame. I will give your "invention" a shot this coming weekend and see what...
I changed my fuel pump about 6 months ago along with a new sock/strainer. Within the last couple of months I noticed that when I get down to 1/4 tank, it acts like its going to run out of gas on accelleration or turning a corner. I'm wondering if the sock is mounted in the wrong direction....is...
Sounds like the ignition switch on the bottom of the column. That switch is one of the more complicated switches on a car and being a mechanical switch with that many contacts, when they break, they cause different symptoms. Mine went out one night leaving work leaving me electrical inside but...
I'd suspect the canister purge valve/solenoid is getting ready to fail or the charcoal canister is plugged and in need of replacement. The purge solenoid went out in the wife's Olds recently and it did the same thing when she would open the cap...that "pressure" should be venting to the canister.
Ok, so the change out wasn't as smooth as I thought it would be...lol...
Even with it up in the air, I had to lower it some to get in there with the long extensions, which promptly got broken down into smaller extensions because of the steering column. there is barely enough room on either side...
Yes, somewhere in the M-Y production, they changed over from all metal to plastic...they do things like that on the line when they run out of parts late in production and a slight item version is coming in the next year's batch. That's why I always check both years if the part for the exact year...
Well, the Chevy dealer said that the brake booster for '84 and '85 are discontinuned....:( As for the different Cardone numbers, the first number is metal and the second number is plastic. I ordered one from Carquest and it will be here in the morning.:happyanim:
I've seen that many times in GM cars is the reason I asked...especially knowing that mine is a late production model, they run out of parts and use the next model years things. I had that happen on both my Oldsmobile's, both different years and models.
I looked up a Cardone replacement for '84...
