Brother its hot in here! I just recharged mine and the engine was running hot for me too for the first time. I believe that its just the nature of the beast.
Aren't they annoying--here is the answer I've found. The tapered screw that secures the mirror to the body is often too long. Take the screw out and grind down about an 1/16th to 1/8th of an inch and try it in the mirror again. This should make it tigh and secure.
Can I suggest an alternate idea?? I decided not to replace my vintage radio and installed a stereo sytem under the rear deck behind my seats. The new unit is completely seperate and connected to two speakers in a box to the rear of the storage compartment. It sounds and looks great.

Go to Corvette Central and buy their L-82 dual exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers. Get rid of the Cat and smog pump and finally enjoy a little more power and great sound. I did this a year ago with my 75 and love it.

Pressing In the Bushings
Installing the new rubber bushing requires some elbow grease, WD40 and a vise. Use a socket to press them into the struts and place two pieces of metal at the other end around the strut end to allow the bushing to push all the way through.
