Try taking the License plate off. That is the way I got almost all of them. I think I went through the top for one.
The job is a real PITFA, and I was saying very many choice words while doing this :mad. If you try going through the filler door you have to take the rubber stuff out around...
Welcome to the CAC! Nice looking CE too! I am not that familiar with the LT1's but I have heard many people say do not get the opti spark wet, or else you will have to replace it.
I remember somebody telling me one of the only reasons for using 5w30 in the C5s, was just for better emissions. I used to run 5w30 in my Escort, and I did not like how thin it looked. I will stick to 10w30 in all my vehicles. But either way you go I doubt you'll have any problems. :w
Yeah I can see your point, but there are some people with the mega bucks, that love to just buy them to look at. I would almost rather have some of the rare, and last cars be sold and kept in almost brand new condition. I mean that way you know they wont get destroyed or stolen etc etc.
Yeah I was told about 5-10HP with the 1.6's. Hey it all adds up thats all that matters I guess. You could also go with LT1 pushrods if you want, those are pretty good rods.
I put Harlan Sharps on my 87. Can't remember what I payed for them but I think they were under 200. I just used my stock springs. Like others have said, you will have to grind the drip tabs off the bottom of the valve covers unless you replace those too.
I think 89 would be the best to get. The general rule is get the newest vette you can afford, but in 89 I think the brakes got a minor upgrade, rims are bigger, and I think the seats are a little different. Other then that they are pretty much the same (86-89).
I don't check mine often but I get around 16.5-17 mpg in the vette according to the dash, and I reset that about every fill up. This is in town driving, non highway.
Have you tried changing your fuel filter lately? How old is your air filter? You could also clean the TB if that hasn't been...
I guess I will be the first to not rest your mind :L. If you think this C4 will give you the most joy out of any other C4 or possible vette you may purchase then go for it. Any C4 you get with some of them being 20 years old will most likely need repairs sooner or later. If you think this is...
These cars sitting is worse then driving them. Like everybody else has stated it is normal, and wont bother anything. I have seen LS1's with low miles do the same thing, dont feel bad ;).
