Hello Gerry,
I've read everything but it is something weird! My question is, what is the oil temperature doing up to the 4 to 6 hours and after that?
What speeds are you driving? In my opinion if you have a 200F tempature for coolant and oil then that is how hot the engine is and that is it. No...
Thanks! That's just what i need! I also have some 1.6 roller tip rockers but i don't want to remove the heads for elonging the slots and when fore sure changing the pushrods. Thanks for the answers!
Greetings Peter
Hello everybody,
As i have the intake off and placing new gm hydraulic lifters in my 81. A few years ago the engine was rebuild with new camshaft and new thicker headgasket.
But the question. As the space between the camshaft and rocker is bigger with the thicker headgasket do I need heigher...
As the switch is on the outside it isn't a big problem, only a big problem to reach it without back problems. Good luck Gerry! [emoji1]
Greetings Peter
Problem is yhat people jack under the horizontal part of the chassis (the weakest part) jack it near the edge under or near the vertical part of the crossmember. It's just simple construction logic and lets you safely jack the vette under the crossmember :)

No way to see in a picture if the kit is good or not. Judging by the price don't expect to much from it. If you like to do it right the first time around then there're better kits for the job. Fuel line is a normal wrench. 7/8 and 1" if I'm correct.
Greetings Peter
Oke sorry looks like I forgot alot about the correct settings. Start with the screw half way and then work it up or down. Normally i set it with the special J staped tool so no idea what roughly it right. The shopmanual also gives a rough figure but don't have the book with me. See the idle air...
4/64 for the mixture plunger is right set tps at base back to 0.56 (2.06 is like 40% throttle) so that is way off. But the Tps doesn't have a big impact on the carb so i would start turning back the idle screws to 3 or 2.5 and see the effect on your dwell meter.
Greetings Peter
Let me see, has been a few months since i last had the dwell meter connected.
It would be logical that if your carb is running way rich that each vacuum leak (extra air) is just keeping it alive. Now your closing all the vacuum leaks (which is a good thing) but the mixture is only getting...
It's just weird to hear this. Bud was the guy that was always around and in his way the force behind the L81 section. There're people that come and go that you don't even notice, others you think will live forever. Everybody has this or her time but it still is an unpleasant surprice. Rest in...
I would say if the original E4ME Quadrajet carb is still functioning and on the engine the the matching numbers mean something. But is its replaced by a non electrical carb then don't bother and just do with it what you want. The electrical Q-jet is the heart and soul of a original 81 ones that...
Hello,
To begin simple. How much do you know about how an engine works internally and how torque (and horsepower) is made in relation to the different components in that engine?
Second. What kind of an engine are you looking for as a result when all the mods are done? Torque engine, high rev...
