I don't know if it is the same as a 74. I can snap a pic and upload later. The little two prong tang that holds it to the car is no good, this is just the mirror with the mounting arm and ball socket shaft...just not the tab that holds it to the car.
Date code? I have no idea what it is...
I just came across the original rearview mirror from my 69. I upgraded to a C4 mirror.
It is about 75% as far as looks, and 100% functional.
The first $20 plus shipping can have it.
Thanks,
Chris
I am convinced that my poor driveability issues with the 85 FrankenVette are all related to a couple of bad injectors.
I had/have a set of Accel in there. I believe they were either 24 or 26.
I have a terrible time getting too lean on acceleration or under a load, and it appears one or two...
I just realized this is a 93 model. For some reason I thought it was an 85. The base idle set is different for these models.
Could somebody please post the base idle/IAC set for a 93?
Lance,
do you already know the proper procedure for setting the idle now that the IAC has been disrupted?
if so that will save me a bunch of typing....if not, let us know so we canhelp you out.
lets try a couple of things.
1. what happens when you ground at the computer to check for codes? you should get a continous code 12 if all is well with the ecm.
2. look at your distributor. you have a wire harness that comes out of the dist and plugs into the car harness. if the ecm is...
your posi clutch unit has failed.
i had the same problem with killer.
i had the rear rebuilt when i did the frame off, but only had done bearings and seals.
just yanked it during the 6 speed conversion, and had new clutch assembly installed.....now she is smooth as silk, and the posi locks up...
try it with the radio off. if the sound goes away....you found it.
often the power antenna has a poor ground and it will backfeed a faint high pitched scratchy squeel for about 20-30 seconds, and sometimes constant. if you get it with the radio off....then move on to the next likely suspect.

It is the ultimate hood support.
You will notice, the camaro hood fits perfect across the top of the fenders. When you want to move the hood, you just hop in the 54 Vette and drive it forward or back!
Look close in the background of this photo from my youth. Seems my Dad and I came up with a very creative way to support the hood from the Camaro while we changed the engine.
Everybody should have a hood prop like this in their garage.
Go with the L88 cowl induction hood. You can stuff the air cleaner right in there. With a gasket on the hood, or bottom pan of the air cleaner, you can seal the air and suck it off the base of the windshield.
I have the open element on my 69 and the L88 style hood. It sounds like a vacuum...
My 85 is running pretty darn good.
However, it will get into a strange idle speed loop that will cause it to surge hard, and stall if you don't raise the idle a bit with the throttle.
This makes bumper to bumper traffic a bit tricky.
Here is the strange thing. The majority of the time, it...
This car is very rough.
The rear fender flares are the "cheaper" version of the L88 flares. Those on there are designed to slap a set of wider than 8" rims and go.
They reworked the lower rear 1/4 panel as well. It almost makes me wonder if they bonded that in, or if that is a clip from a...
Ken,
First of all, let's look back at your project..your goals, and triumphs and learning points you have had along the way.
You started out with a mostly stock ultra clean 87 Z51. You had your fill of hassles and troubles from the 4+3, electrical glitches, and disapointments with the stock...
