I am sorry to tell you, but you are going to do some damage to the pretty chrome in this process.
First of all, on a big block, the driver header will hit the steering gear box. You will also have problems with the starter clearance. This does not even begin to cover the problems with just...
Hey 6, chances are you have set a code due to some sort of fault. On the OBDII computer, it won't reset by disconnecting the battery. However, it will reset all by itself after a certain number of starts without seeing the code present.
You need to ground out the ADL and get the code. It...
mine just blew on my 85. I had to bypass it as I am in the middle of some confusing computer/driveability issues.
I picked up a new core from Advance Auto for $33.
Just had shoulder surgery and am unable to get under the dash right now. Of an interesting note, I already have the computer...
Yep, and with the adjustable pressure regulator, I could crank up the PSI on the fuel, set the timing back a tad, and blow flames out the straight pipes on deaccleration. My buds got the biggest kick out of it.
Welcome to my world!
On the big block,..........these hooker pipes do not fit well.
You have to heat, bend, grind, dent, and fight them to get them in place.
TZracer had to stand and jump on his pipes to get them to clear on the 1971.
Good luck!!!!!!
No, no, no........................
This is good stuff, no hijack.
The answer is:
ONE BITE AT A TIME!!!!!!!!!!
So, you just need to keep plugging away, one bolt at a time!!!!!!
Re: A reprieve, sorta...
That is GREAT news!
Hey...I had to pull the trans from Killer half a dozen times before I got all the details ironed out....you are just about to catch up with me!
Boy do I know the feeling. Sitting here with my arm in the sling. Just saw the doc today, and he...
Nikki changed my pump on the 85 Frankenvette. She did a great job.
The problem is the rubber gasket would not seal.
Ended up fussing with that for a while.
Now I think the cap is bad.
Oh......you are right. I have two original 69 side driver's mirrors. Both have numberss, but the ball stud is shot in those.
I went to the C4 mirror as it had map lights on the bottom that tied in nice to the other modern items on the car.
Last one.
If you want it, just do $20, plus $5 = $25 for shipping and all (ups ground or airborne, or USPS), unless you want rapid or special shipping.
You can go to my website and link to my paypal if you like.
Thanks
Chris
Re: Etched...
When you say on the glass edge...do you mean literally on the glass or on the bezel that goes around the glass? And when you say small...how small is small?? Is it on the top or bottom of the mirror?
Thanks,
Nikki--posting because Chris is STILL working on the 85
You know what is scary, if you look at that engine pic, there are no wires...so he either unplugged them, or took a pair of dykes to it and hacked them out...ouch!
Whoa, I had to turn my speakers off, as I swear that dog was barking at me! What a conveluted mess. You would think they would have at least tried to make the hood hole look symetric. Yikes. no doubt his wife wants to see it go away for Christmas.
That car should be the poster child for...
Re: Rear View Mirror
Been very busy dealing with a problem 85 Vette ALLLLLLLL day today. The mirror is right there on the bench, but I did not get around to looking at it. It is getting COLD here in Florida tonight. I will get out there and look it over on Sunday afternoon.
Thanks.
Chris
TZ may or may not share the actual hp/tq from his motor. Let me just say that we don't call it BRUISER just because of the car's race inspired good looks. I don't think it is possible for any small block to generate what his bigger block is producing. I am not having these challenges out of...
