    NCRS...what direction are they going?

Here is an article about the Judging aspect that I wrote for our chapter newsletter a couple of years ago ..... Corvettes By The Numbers……………. We are so lucky to be involved in a wonderful facet of the car hobby! We don’t have ANY rules for our cars in the NCRS. Try building and using...

Update on my 14 inch brakes

Norval, As always your posts are very informative. The hat looks fantastic. I am also very impressed with the weight of the new units as opposed to the originals. What a great project. Please post the information about balancing the rotor assy, I for one am very curious as to how you will...

    Lead Hammers (for knockoffs)

I am with JohnZ, I have a plastic dead blow hammer that I keep in the car and use it all the time. I also have the lead hammer but it is just for looks. Take care, Brian

    Henny496's "major" project

Henny, That looks great! The blower does not look as high as I thought it might. If you were to run a '67 stinger hood it would appear even lower in the car. Go with electronic injection......BDS has the parts. Watch for a road trip coming to a garage near you soon;) Take care, Brian

    Speaking of winter projects.........

That barn / garage sure looks great. I love the look of it. You must have quite a lot more room to work with the extra space now. Enjoy it! In this northern climate a warm garage to work in during the winter is almost as good as clear summer roads for driving the vette.

    Cleaning Aluminum trans case

Ol Blue: Thanks for the suggestion. I tried Eagle One Mag Wheel cleaner on another old tailshaft housing and you are right about corrosive properties creating white deposits. Brian: I agree that the castings appear to have been created using different processes and possibly material grades...

    Cleaning Aluminum trans case

Thanks for the tip. I should also mention that this is for a restored car and the aluminum surface needs to appear natural and undisturbed (ie no abrasion) Do you think that the coil cleaner will brighten up the housing without having to scrub it with more than a stiff bristle brush? Take...

    Cleaning Aluminum trans case

Does anyone know a good way to really clean the tailshaft housing for a Muncie 4 speed? I have washed and scrubbed the part in varsol but it will not come out as clean and bright as the main case. I have several other 4 speeds and they all seem to have the same tendancy to be darker than the...

    Keeping score at BJ

They have been saying on Speed that this will be a 100% no reserve auction this time. As the chose the 900 cars out of a possible 5000 entries, they probably pick all the no reserve cars to run as they are certain sales and ensure a solid commission flow.

    Baby's progress continues

Hi Barry, It looks great! And your guy is really getting into the details. You will love the result for sure. I would be very interested in what the "Green Glue" is...is it some sort of gelcoat to seal the joint surface? I see that he appears to have repaired something on the top senter of...

    Shots of my old rotors

Great shots Norval, Three pounds is a serious weight loss on one component from just drilling holes.

    How I drilled my rotors

Very impressive Norval! These posts about your brake upgrade are very interesting and informative. Keep all that great info coming. We can't wait to see the assemblies with the hats attached. Take care, Brian

Another upgrade on my new brakes

Norval, Every little bit of weight reduction helps. It would be interesting to know the total weight of your car now with all the mods and lightening as opposed to the original vehicle weight. Take care, Brian
