My '86 has it under the lid to the storage bin behind the seat, I don't remember which bin but there are only two so it shouldn't be too hard to find.
I think there is a company that makes a small metal bracket that fits behind the stock belt mounting points and allows attachment of the harness belts to it. I'm not sure who makes it tho. Might be Barclay Kruse or something like that. I know I have seen mention of it on www.corvetteforum.com...
I wonder if you got the code cleared out completely. You need to either remove the ecm fuse or disconnect the battery for a few minutes. Then hook up the scan tool and turn the key on but don't start the motor. The scan tool should show no codes. I think something is wrong if you get the check...
I used some silicone sealant around the new sensor where it fits into the plastic shroud. I think it's important to get a good seal here so no dirt/dust gets sucked into the engine.
I would call them up and talk to them. Or, you can just start up the car and wait for it to warm up and see when the fan comes on. Then you will know what temp it comes on at.
I think there are those metal clips that the bolts thread into. Sorry I can't remember for sure. But, it wouldn't really matter because you could bolt it through any way you want. If there is no factory wiring I would just put in a switch, relay, and fuse. I wouldn't bother with the temp sensor...
