    Antenna bypass

To install the bypass kit do you have to access the antenna motor or tap in the green line somewhere near the fuse box. I really don't want to take the tail lights out to get at the motor. Thanks, Michael

    Horsepower ratings mysterys

If the LS1 is rated at the flywheel at 345 hp why does it have as good if not better times in the quarter than a 427-400hp. I realize the suspension and stock tires on the C5 are better but were talking a straight 1/4. Again, where was the hP measured on the 68s etc.

    Horsepower ratings mysterys

At what place is the horsepower rated on the LS1. Some say at the crank some say rear wheels? Also where was the HP rated on the 68 models? Thanks, Michael

    LS1-350 or 346 cid ?

I say the LS1 is 346 cid. I have been called on this several times. Most folks say its a 350 cid. Even the CAC glossary defines the LS1 as 350 cid. My 00 owners manual states 346 cid. Why all the confusion?

    Ellusive rattle source found

Sounds exactly like what I have on my 00. Isn't bad for a sports car. I never looked for it because I don't get under the car. It seemed a little to petty to bother the dealer with. Now that I know where to locate it I will be sure to bring it up. Thanks

    Bose CD mechanical problems

If the unit to be repaired is in your 2000, the factory warantee would cover it unless your mileage is over 36k. Bose usually replaces units rather than repair them. They seem to be very easy to deal with. Last year a friend of mine had a mechanical problmen with the CD in his 90. He took it...

    Antenna bypass

Thanks FarOut but I was thinking more of a inline switch so if I should decide to listen to the radio I could just throw the switch and reactivate the antenna. The fuse removal is a option though . Thanks

    Antenna bypass

I usually drive listening to CD's. I'm getting sick of the antenna up when its not necessary. Any way to bypass the radios control of the antenna. Thanks, Michael

A little help, how do I get it home????

First, I find the members of the CAC to be quite civilized so I don't think you will get bashed. We all have different ideas of how a Vette should be cared for. I respect the right of anyone to care for their car any way they please. Hey you paid for it! As for myself, I'm a middle of the...

A little help, how do I get it home????

I can think of nothing worst than a long trip on the interstate with cars and especially trucks kicking up sand and stone into my cars finish. Your car will get some serious dings and that would be ashame. It won't be fun. You will cringe every time you hear the slap of road sand against your...

A little help, how do I get it home????

Some self storage facilitys allow you to store automobiles. Three months rent is no bad for a secure spot till you can drive it home. Just a thought

C5 Finding and Fixing a "Tweet"

Have the same noise in my 00. I can't find it the source either. Sounds like a altenator bearing. Doubt if thats the problem but its a good way to explain the sound. I am sure someone can answer this better than me. Good luck Michael

    six speed

Thanks c4c5. I don't have a problem with the noise as long as it proforms properly. You know how short the cruise season can be in New England. Thanks again Michael

    six speed

c4c5specialist Thanks for the explanation. Could you tell us why some of the trannys make a ton of noise and the rest are relatively quiet? Thanks Michael

    six speed

Stan I put 39 years of driving 3 thru 6 speeds and beleive me when I say my 00 6 speed noise is far from normal. If you shut down this car with the clutch out it makes enough noise to draw a crowd. Seriously, people looking under the car to see what fell out. I personaly never let the car...
