Hey folks,
This has been discussed from time to time and I thought I'd post what I have done incase someone is interested.
I'm running the SLP Cold Air setup (used to be called Triple Threat). It's basically 3 tubes that have a K&N cone filter on each tube. Those mesh into a big tube that...
You might want to just go to the tire manufacturers website and send an email to their support folks. Just to make sure that you haven't caused an internal problem with the tire that will mkae them dangerous. Other than that I would just run them.
I'll bet it handled real good while you were...
LT4John,
Thanks for the info. I downloaded the PDF file from their website and looked at the part you mention. The 2.25" center in/center out is part # 94250. I'll talk to my muffler guy and see what he thinks about the single and dual outputs. He's been putting them on Mustangs and they make a...
Glad to hear it John. Those are the ones I was going to try next to see what happens.
Can you pass on the part number you got. I was looking at one that was 3" center input to dual 2.5" or 2.25" tips. I was thinking they would need some nice polished tips installed them to improve the look.
Do...
Cool. Thanks. Just post it in here or send me email. Mine sounded bad-a** up at the high end and the resonance went away. Either that or the exhaust note was so strong I couldn't tell :D

FWIW:
When I looked at Corsa I wondered why they didn't post numbers. So I emailed them and asked for dyno output of 92-96 LT1 if they had one. Well they did. Tested a 95-LT1 w/6sp. A 60mph-4th gear roll on. At the rear wheels the corrected numbers were HP +10 , TQ +11. This gain was pretty...
I'm glad they are working out for you. They do look great from the back and side view of the car.
But I'm confused. You have the factory base but a K&N filter in it. The difference I have is the SLP which is steel tube. That maybe what caused me the problem. But I like the SLP setup so I want to...
I like the idea of drilling a small hole in the stat body so that some coolant will flow all the time. I guess that makes a nice safety measure. I've found that the GM 180 stat for my LT1 opens closer to 195 and closes at 180. The custom chip I have turns the fans on at 200 and off at 190. So...
3 Deuce,
It sounds like you are using the exact Magnaflow that I had all the problems with. The 92-96 specific ones. Look beautiful! Resonated like mad in my car. Actually gave me a headache just driving it to work. Had to take them off. I'm wondering if running the SLP cold air kit with a cut...
You don't have to change the whole carrier to go from 2.59 to 3.54 or 3.73. They fit in there, tight, but they fit. If you already have the 3.07 (G92 option) then you just need the correct speedo gears. If you go from a 2.59 then you also need the 3-Series VSS. Same Dana 36 carrier wheather you...
Jake,
Doing the same thing on my92. Most of the parts places like Autozone don't carry the style used in the LT1. I actually had a parts guy try to tell me a standard stat would work just fine. There were no special ones...
The factory one is 180. I bought the 160 with my chip upgrade. Very good...
Well I checked and mine is 5923 and fits within the 1-7664 so I'm calling the dealer in the morning and requesting it. There is no time, mileage, or owner limit on the TSB.
It'll sure surprise the heck out of me if they actually do it and I get a free Optispark out of the deal, installed no...
Gears. Like the others said. Put a set of 3.54s in my A4 and what a jump from 2.59 factory gears. Plenty of pulling power, still have good top end. Great mod and bang for the buck.

You need to keep the resonator in there. Removing it will just compound your problem. I tried using the Magnaflow SS mufflers because they looked great. Straight though design 3" in to dual 2.5" out tips. They sounded awesome at idle. Sounded like a racing car above 3Krpm. Problem was you didn't...
