Jason,
I flushed mine out a couple of months ago. And saw that same nasty looking color. Completely remove your overflow jug and hose that thing out. Mine was nasty...
I used Distilled water to make the mix. Not sure you have to but I'm on a well and have a fairly high mineral content so it was...
I don't know who TPIS buys their gears from but the price of about $400 for the whole kit is pretty good.
It cost me about $450 for my kit. I went with Strange (US Gear) and the master install kit. That has everything in it that TPIS shows plus the synthetic gear oil.
The price on the 3.54 and...
You could have had 2 things happen at once...
I've ran mine down to where I was running on fumes, literally! It wasn't intentional or a common occurence. Once the last bar on the fuel gauge disappeared a few minutes later SYS started flashing just as you describe.
As the manual explains it that...
Pilot,
The default for an auto trans is the 2.59. If your RPO codes show a G92 then you have the factory Performance Axle which is 3.07.
You only have 2 other options. 3.54 or 3.75 (aftermarket).
The MPH/RPM numbers posted above are for my92. Starting in 93 they went with the staggered tire...
Pilot,
I changed from the 2.59 to the 3.54. I used to average about 20.5mpg over the course of the week. I'm now averaging about 19.0mpg.
It swings a little but at worst it would be 2mpg drop.
For the performance increase it is an easy choice for me. I love the 3.54s.
Have you hugged your gears...
Forget that C3. Here is a realy wild C3 that will eat most anything for lunch. And there are still a few hours left to enter your bid...

Just an interesting little aside on thermostats.
I have a 160deg stat in my car. And the car will actually run at about 165deg with it. This seems reasonable.
Now if I put my 180deg factory stat in the car runs at 195deg +/-2deg.
So I was curious why. I had the factory one on the shelf so I...
Dale,
I was looking at the Flowmaster 50 (Delta Flow) yesterday. I was wondering how well those would work. How is the resonance between 1500-3000? Or in general. I tried another brand of muffler and there was one area that just killed me. I felt like i was inside the resonator...
Also do you...
ramrod,
the original diff with the new 3.54 gears. and yes the acceleration is like night and day. with 3.73 even more. and the car will still make it to 150 but in OD instead of D.
search for gear and my id and you'll find a lengthy post on what i did, part numbers etc...
for the money it will...
ramrod,
here are the MPH/RPM using 2.59, 3.54, 3.73 gears. you judge for yourself which you can live with. if you do a search for gears you will find a ton of info.

i'm running the 3.54 in the stock dana 36...
Thanks for the info. The air dam on the Motorsports kit doesn't drop as low. I've seen a white ragtop in town with that kit on it and it looked nice. You definetely noticed it...
I couldn't do a really deep air dam as the folks where I work installed speed mountains (they went beyond bumps). I...
Yeah I agree Rich. That whole package on the car Ron had looks good. That is an Greenwood Aero package. The original kit. I also like the complete Motorsports package from Greenwood. I think their C4-R kit goes just a little overboard for my tastes.
Skant, take a look at www.greenwoodvette.com...
It's not just a Vette thing. It's a GM thing from the mid-80s... My 85 Olds Delta 88 only ever needed 1 major part replacing. Guess which part. Same problem you describe. You can't repair the rack yourself from what I understand. Just swap it out. My went from just morning stiffness to doing it...
Be careful at the auto parts store. I went to Autozone and when he looked it up on the computer it told him a standard thermostat for any small block Chevy... wrong!.
I told him the LT1 stat is specific. He told me to go to the dealer...
They are not an off the shelf part in any parts store like...
Thanks Ken. Yeah I checked those very closely because they are easy to look at. They look good. Not a drip. And no oil under them or spun around from the half-shafts. It is either a tiny bit coming out of the top or the pinion seal leaks it and then it gets on the cover peice that spins around...
Just an update. It is rear gear fluid that is leaking. It is a very tiny amount that leaks. I didn't have time to work on it this weekend but will get under the car this coming week and just double-check how tight the cover is and torque it down. It hasn't been retorqued since we did the gear...
Steve,
I have both tops also. In the summer when I'm running the acrylic top I have 2 different static cling peices I use. 1 is grey piece with little holes in it. It really kills the sun but also ruins the view through the roof. The piece that I really like is a very dark tinted static cling...
I leave mine in D alot around town. Like Chris N explained. As soon as I jump onto the on ramp I get on it a little and then slide it into OD once I'm on the highway. I haven't had any problems driving it this way. I don't actually do the 1-2-3 manual shift though. Either D or OD.

Edmond,
Sorry to hear about that. I think you just hit a crappy local shop. I have no complaints about the one I used. But like I told you before I bought the tires from them. I know a lot of folks are big on Tire Rack but when I costed out the SZ50s+shipping then paying installation it was...
