    Warning! My Buyavette Experience

Thanks TimAT. I'm buying every book and manual for the vette and will start mapping out my plan. Bob, you are correct. The point of this thread was to inform others of my mistakes and experiences. ALL. This is not a bash on the dealer. I should have had someone locally inspect it before I...

    Warning! My Buyavette Experience

I just picked it back up from the shop. They couldn't get a spindle in time. They rethreaded the old one and spot welded the nut on. Once I can get it home, I'll start planning out the mechanical roadmap on what to tackle first...safety of course. I just see each fix leads to another to a...

    Warning! My Buyavette Experience

Well, I finally made it out to pick up my new 69 from Buyavette.net in Atlanta. If you have specific questions about the dealership, shoot me a message and I'll let you know. I'll begin by saying the mechanical disposition of the car was quoted as "The car runs good and drives good." The...

Question: 1977 Restoration, Removing the Body

I've been following along with Tim Cote's resto. It's taken him a long time, but he's been doing almost everything himself. Read along and take a look at the picture and you'll get an idea of what's involved. It's a very informative site and has a lot of good pictures, links, etc. The...

    Question: C3 Rear compartment sizing

Oh, I see that coming. My other "classic" experience was with my '67 Mustang Conv. A few hundred here, a few hundred there, ran me dry... 10 years later, it'll be less painful. I plan on doing 99% myself. It runs good and has had a lot of "drivability" repairs before I bought it. Who...

    Question: C3 Rear compartment sizing

Evolution1980, Yes, the antennae is a little weird. It's a generic replacement. I'm planning on putting in a power antennae once I get it. It has a few other finishing details left to do (chrome trim around tail pipes, clock!, reinstall a/c).

    Question: C3 Rear compartment sizing

entropy454, Yes, it is the one from buyavette.net. I'm still amazed I'm getting a 40 year old car with a 5yr/100,000 mile warranty (not bumper to bumper, of course).

    Question: C3 Rear compartment sizing

paul67, Thanks. That's exactly what I needed. We're planning top up to allow for more space. We'll be on the road for a week (=more junk). Her small roller and a duffel for me will be perfect.

Thanks Philbillyvette. I'm currently stationed overseas at Misawa Air Base, Japan. I've been overseas for about 6.5 years now. Lookin' forward to the good ol' USA, maybe next summer. I've been to the Gulf a few times now. Seen mostly from the air (USAF).

    New Owner/Member

I've just purchased my first vette. It's taken me 18 years to save the money, find the time, and the right car. My wife and I are picking it up in a few weeks. We'll be driving it around for about a week before I have to put it into storage since I'm stationed overseas. I'm hoping my next...

    Question: C3 Rear compartment sizing

I'm the proud new owner or a 69 Convertible 427 (NOM). We're flying out to pick it up and drive it back. Can anyone spare the 3 minutes to measure the rear compartment area (Length, width, height) of their early-C3 so my wife can pack the appropriate size bag? Top up is fine. It's been 18...
