Try re-programming again following the instructions in the manual. The case on mine is loose and I have to re-program if the battery loses contact. I do this when one door or the other or the hatch does not open like it should.

Same problem. I put a dot of super glue on it which I plan to break the bond when it is time to put a new battery in. Working for 1.5 years so far!

Everytime I shut the doors after washing the car, the water splashes down the side and I have to get my chamois out again. Has anyone drilled a hole in the mirror housing to drain water? I had my drill in hand and realized the motor and wires are back there somewhere and I wondered if it would...
I've drained my radiator and reservoirs (at least most of the upper reservoir), but how do I get all my coolant out of the engine and the rest of the lines? I only drained out less than 2 gallons and I see my thermostat housing is still full to the brim.
Do I have to fill with water, let it...
Hey Skant!
I finally got my TB by-pass done on my LT4. Just like you said, but I did cut my hoses off. I'm not done with all my repairs yet and I have not bought the plugs to cap the tubes, so I don't know how she goes yet. I replaced my 180 deg thermostat with another 180 OEM thermostat...
This has been fun! One advantage of being in TX - my last fill-up was less than $2 per gallon for premium, but that was right before it shot up. She's on jackstands in my garage this week getting radiator flush, thermostat change and TB by-pass. I've never heard of the tradition of leaving...
I was doing RM on my car and found about $2 of change under my seat. When I first got it, I found about $2 under the center console. I wondered if a man or woman had the car before me, but with that much change under the seat, it had to have been a man. Of course, I immediately thought of...
Sounds like fun! My 9 year old daughter drove on my lap in the parking lot last week. She steered around some obstacles and when she straightened it out I floored it. I thought it would scare her, but she just kept it straight and then turned around with a big smile on her face when I backed...
Thanks Skant. I've been pessimistic about this operation and afraid to order the kit because what if it doesn't fit the LT4, etc. I read many descriptions and seen photos that seem to0 over-simplified for someone who has not done it yet, so I REALLY appreciate this. I'm ready to go!!!

Excellent - Congrats!
Sounds like a great car. The nice thing is you got a beauty you can be proud of and can always go after more power later. Too bad I was not back in the market, or you could have looked at mine.... Love the red/black!!!
Congrats again!

the air passes thru the TB too fast at WOT to make any difference
Motorman is right - to have efficient heat transfer, you have to have a large surface area of a conductive material between the two fluids and/or a large difference in temperature between the fluids and good turbulence in both...
density
The equation is not necessary to explain. The density of a gas is a measure of its compactness (mass per volume). Decreasing temperature, increasing pressure and decreasing volume all increase density because these three actions pack the gas molecules together. The greater the...

I've thought of doing the exact same thing. I think it looks great in red as well as blue. The '96 GS is one of my all-time favorite cars - and it's my reverence and respect for the car that will prevent me from doing it. IMHO.

What's the problem?
I don't want to take apart the gaskets - I want to take it back in good shape for the next person if it's not the right part. I'm in no hurry.
BTW it was O'Reilly's not AZ.
Chet
I just got home from Autozone with a K&N air filter. The instruction sheet says it fits 90-93 Corvettes including ZR-1.
I have a 1996 LT4. Before I install it - can anyone tell me for certain this will fit my car and function properly? The K&N Part Number is 33-2035.
Thanks!
