Good news
Got a note from my friend at BG and he said the following (as of today):
The cars are running down the line. They made a line speed adjustment so jobs are changing and things are a little slow but the plant is supposed to open back for tours next Monday. Museums delivery's tours...
I would agree that the handling of the C6 Z06, in dry weather, is exceptional.
Driver ability is the only drawback.
A good driving school like Spring Mountain, Bondaurant, or Skip Barber, should be on everyones "to-do" list if they want to do any spirited driving.

DETROIT -- General Motors, focusing on mainstream products in a battle to survive, has scrapped a unit that produced high-performance vehicles.
GM today disbanded High Performance Vehicle Operations, which is based at the company's suburban Detroit technical center, and redeployed its...
I'm all for JR and Vickers beating each other's car to bits but when you take out a bunch of other cars then that sucks.
If I were NASCAR I'd put Junior on vacation for about 2 or 3 races. What Vickers did was perfectly legal in the eyes of NASCAR. What Junior did...taking out all those cars...
It would be great to see Mark Martin get the win but I don't see him doing it.
Probably Kyle Bush ( I love it when he take a bow and basically tells the booing crowd to shove their beer cans up their butts), Jeff Gordon, or Jimmy Johnson.

I am selling my B&B Fusion exhaust that I've had on my Z06 for 2 months. System is in excellent shape.
$1199 plus shipping.
Just lowered the price to $1000 (plus shipping)
Taking system off car next week(weather permitting). I have a sale pending on the car and need to put the stock system...
OH, Yes I Will point a finger at the dealer that gouges folks for 30,000 + over the MSRP. See if you can guess which one!
If he sold the car at MSRP he still ONLY makes around $18,000 per car.
And YES I Will buy something else that is selling AT MSRP or less.
That IS what's great about the...
Dumping the ZR1 is a rumor that seems to have been floated by a car salesman in the mid-west. And then floated some more by a forum.
It would seem rather foolish to dump the car, at this time, when they have spent all that $$ to develop and produce it.
If they're worried about sales then they...
Thanks Bud,
Let me see if I understand this correctly. If you want to post about a new product (or any product for that matter) that you think many be of interest to folks on the forum, one needs to check to see if said seller is an advertiser first.
And if they are not an advertiser, you must...
Best of everything to you Janet.
You are one of the real genuine articles in the Corvette community and I'm sure we'll see you around and about!

We were told at the Birthday Bash by the head engineer that certain molds used to build the car are only good for about 2000 stampings...so they decided not to make new molds (said molds are expensive) and go with 2K cars a year.

Paul,
Well stated on your text about the museum. I go down there almost every April to the Birthday Bash. Only missed one year.
Corvette was a scattered band before the museum. Now I have a place to go that is terrific. As an example...this past April we were treated to view and sit in 2...
If you can get a peek inside one of those cars you'll probably see a Zhz on the center arm rest. They are Hertz rental cars.
Interesting that they will come with magnetic ride AND drilled rotors.
Think they have black stripes and that's done somewhere else. I did see a trailer full of Wil...
Rob,
Any reason why the air intake is disconnected in the 1st vid?
I'm not seeing the excitement for the ZR1 that I saw for the C5 Z06 or the C6 Z06. Wonder if they'll be discounting them the 1st year out!
And I remember the 1st C5 and what a marketing homerun GM hit with that announcement.
