Sometimes enhancing what you have is all you need to do. I prefer to keep the car as a crossfire, I was going to install a superram but I got side tracked with the x-ram and now the renegade. But here is something a crossfire owner can do to keep his mind off the lack of performance, spiff up...
I finally have some 1/4 mile times for my renegade equiped crossfire.
My first run with alot of wheel spin netted a 14.87, this run was done letting the auto trans self shift. It shifted to soon. The second run I shifted the auto trans myself and had alot of wheel spin and when I shifted into...
I installed a renegae a while back and now after hammering on the gas for the last year, I am developing neck problems. Any suggestions what I should do to cope with the power increase of the renegade?
Maybe wear a hans device like nascar drivers?:confused
I would hate to detune this...
They had a project to put a LS engine in a C4. They had a budget of $15,000 and they went over budget and all it has is336.7 lb-ft at 4800 rpm. Doesn't a stock L98 put out 330 lb-ft of torque? They should have left the L98 stock;LOL:rotfl. Or put a few bolt ons on the L98 and have a low 12...
I have a renegade and the crossfie runs faster than my 85 TPI. It spins the tires when it shifts into 2nd gear. It runs 14.0 in the 1/4 mile now with tons of wheel spin, with slicks it would be a high 13 second car. I installed the renegade myself it was pretty easy everything went together...
You guys should deal through paypal or something similar. Checks went out of style in the 70's. There is a new thing called a computer try using it to your advantage. Don't be a sucker. Don't ship anything until you have the money in your grubby hands.
Would you consider getting another crossfire? I have seen a few on ebay going for a good price. One good thing about a crossfire, you don't have to buy a lot of parts for it to modify it. I have a stinkin TPI and to mod the intake you have to buy:
intake
runners
port the plenum
buy a new TB...
I had bilstiens on my 84 vette they were really stiff I went with edelbrock IAS shocks on it now. My 85 vette needs shocks, have not decided which ones to get.
What should I do next to my crossfire? I have the following:
renegade intake manifold
2 inch TB's
K&N
ADS chip & 180 stat
underdrive pulleys
random cat
walker rear y-pipe
muffler eliminators
shift kit
I don't use synthetic, I run natural oil from crude. If you run low just add some cheap stuff at the gas station, less stress than worrying about finding your brand in a pinch.
When you say the runner divider removed on the latest version of your crossfire, do you mean at the head end of the intake or the runner inlet end? Did your intake melt or is it still intacted? Could you post some pictures of your intake modifications.
My previous post was to get your mind...
Well that sucks. It really is a crossfire at its fullest. On to something better to post about.
What vette are you going to buy next? Another crossfire? A little step up to TPI or plug your nose and by an optispark LT1.:chuckle Or go all out and get a 58-61 vette. Those are my favorite...
