This definitely sounds like ABS brakes. The reason why you don't feel the same sensation when trying to rereat the shudder is probably because your pads have warmed up significantly. Your first stops (and probably the most shuddering one) were on colder pads. As the brakes pads heat up, they...

My recommendation was not an attempt to take money out of your pockets. The goal is to find out if there is a better way to do what he wants with his ZR-1, before mistakes are made. In this process he might find enough gotchas to buy the Guldstrand kit. I don't know of many tuners...

I wonder if it's worth a call to Gullstrand (in Burbank, CA) to see how much of the rubber bushings they cut away? I do know one thing, you can take off too much and lower a car too much, to the point that it handles worse than stock. Use caution because it is better to be safe than...
Merry Christmas.
What came with the kit? Aren't they usually just a set of new u-bolts? Or are you changing out any bushings or going to coil overs to lower the car? I remember that Dick Gullstrand used to remove the springs and cut away the rubber blocks.
Keep us posted on how it works out...

It could be a warped rotor if you feel the pulsing under very light to moderate braking. I would go out and test the brakes since your aggressive run and see if the brakes still do it. Corvettes are notorious for warped rotors..
Is the car pulling in one direction or another? If so...

The shuddering that you are experiencing is probably the ABS kicking in. The problem for most is that they aren't used to the shudddering and the end up letting off of the brake. Do not do this. It's difficult to develop threshold braking techniques with ABS brakes. Many people on the...
Thanks Dave. Is there any way for me to check the anti-knock sensor myself, or is this a dealer issue?
Thanks for your feedback. I will be bummed if this is the problem, because it has been around since the car was new.
Take care,
Brad
I bought one of these many years ago and lost my stock chip. Since then ('85) my car has always had detonation) and I alwys need to add octane booster to my gas. Are there any better solutions on the market? My car has very mild mods.
Thanks in advance for your feedback.
Brad
