I had my 73 frame media blasted. Then used POR 15 before the POR dries spray a coat of satin black enamel. I made up a spray wand from a garden plant sprayer and shot the por inside the frame rails it worked well.
I think you are saying the ball stud came out of the "A" shaped bracket on the frame side. It is available from any of the corvette suppliers and maybe GM parts dealer. The ball stud has a threaded end that is held secure in the frame bracket.
