59 wheels are black, 60 wheels (just the face) are body color. I painted my 60 wheels black because to me, white wheels look stupid with wide whitewalls.

I haven't had any reaction with my Corvette but the other day I was sitting at a stoplight in my Cobra. This thing is quite loud and will shake the he!! out of any car next to it. This young girl in a Prius (or whatever they are called) pulls up and gives me a look like I'm killing the...
Need more info. Is this a cold start problem only? After it has sat for a few days? After you manually add the gas, does it run fine? Once it fires, shut it off and try again. Does it fire right up? If so, the gas in the carb. is evaporating or leaking out while it sits. Very common.
Nice job. I rolled my body up on some tires like it was described to do in an early issue of the NCRS Corvette Restorer. C1 bodies are very sturdy and don't flex. I never had a single problem.
I have always run the lower pressure caps without any problems. Like Tom said, it reduces your chances for leaks. The front motor mount design on C1's doesn't need any help to start leaking.

The fiberglass bodies don't block the electrical static that is picked up through the AM radio so GM shielded the wires to accomplish what a metal body would do. Radio delete cars don't come with the shielding.
