an older friend of mine has a 63 convertible. the engine was replaced before he bought the car in 71. it has a mildly built up 67 327. i'm going to pull the engine out to paint it and the engine bay.

what i need to know is, what after market aluminum intake manifold will fit under the hood? the car has an after market holley 750cfm double pumper. any one have pics?

What intake is on it now?

The '64-'65 high-rise aluminum intake (3844461) used on 350 and 365hp engines will fit with the factory air cleaner, as will the '66-67 350hp high-rise aluminum intake (3890490) with the factory air cleaner; both accept Holleys, although the 750DP is WAY over-carbureted for a 327. A 600CFM vacuum-secondary 1850 or 570CFM Avenger is a much better choice.

The Edelbrock Performer intake will fit as well, not sure about the Performer RPM - it may be too tall.

..boy, agree with the point about over-carburation...i had a big carb on my 327 when i got it and the plugs were black and wet all the time..the 650 is just fine

That is a case of wrong jetting, not carb. size.

thanks for the advice fellas, but, the carburator is not an issue. out of the box you are correct, but, the car has a healthy cam and valve train, 2.02/1.60 heads and 10.5/1 pop-up pistsons. it had a bigger carb that this one on it since the 60's. the carb died. i bought the 750 and rejetted it to get the air flow i wanted and the fuel it needed. it's all good.

the car has a factory steel intake. i am going to put an after market aluminum for better flow. i only stated the carb size and type so you'd know what i'm dealing with for hood clearance.
